Well, that’s funny…because 64% of the people who like Created Equal’s Facebook page are women.

No, you are quoting wrong, and the quote that you are referring to is usually in reference to the fact that most of the people writing legislation on abortion and seeking to limit the choices pregnant people are allowed to make about their bodies are men, not about who likes your shitty little Facebook page.

my previous post about having no compassion for injuries obtained during an abortion..

there are few situations, on a person-to-person basis, that i can understand and accept a reason why someone would need an abortion or want one.

i also understand that everyone who gets one doesnt have to answer to me or my opinions..

with that said..

even though its a hard thing for me to even imagine, an abortion within the single digit weeks is more understandable .. but any late-term abortion, no matter what the situation, is deplorable.

I understand that you’re 21 and expecting.  Congratulations on your pregnancy, clearly you want to be a mother and this is import to you.  Most women who become pregnant also feel this way.  The difference between you and most women is that they do not judge others for having late term abortions.  

When you have carried a being in your body for that long, knowing that there was a way out months earlier, having a late term abortion, a procedure placing yourself at greater risk, is not something you enter into lightly.  Undeniably there are women who elect to have late term abortions, when there is no risk involved to them or the fetus.  However your statement of, “any late-term abortion, no matter what the situation, is deplorable.” for lack of a better word is absolute bullshit.

Women often are faced with having to make heartbreaking choices late in their pregnancies when their fetus is diagnosed with one of the following:

Potter’s Syndrome: there is a total absence or malformation of infant kidneys. Vast majority of babies die at birth or shortly afterwards.

Lethal Dwarfism: this is very rare. Some symptoms are a large head, wide front fontanel, corneal clouding, closed off ear canals, and very short arms. Nearly half of the babies that have this die before they’re born.

Holoprosencephaly: In most cases, the brain does not divide into lobes, which severely deforms the skull and face. Sometimes the brain is partially or nearly divided, making the symptoms much less severe. In the absolute worst cases, the baby dies in the womb.

Anterior and Posterior Encephalocele: this complication leads to chromosomal anomaly, most common anomaly being Trisomy 18. Patients with an anterior encephalocele have a 100% survival rate, but only 55% in persons with a posterior encephalocele. Encephalocele reduces the chance of live birth to 21%, and only half of those live births survive. Approximately 75% of survivors have a mental deficit. The absence of brain tissue in the herniated sac is the single most favorable prognostic feature for survival. 

  Non-Immune Hydrops: Excess of extra-cellular fluid in two or more sites without any identifiable circulating antibody to red cell antigens. There are treatments to perform while the baby is still in the womb, however the prognosis is generally very poor with very high peri-natal mortality. 

These are just a few of the diagnoses that can and probably will result in the death of the infant.  Of course there are those who after receiving this information continue with their pregnancy and deliver their deceased child.  That is a personal CHOICE made by the parents.  However the emotional toil of continuing a pregnancy that will eventually result in a pre-mature or full term death is not something that any woman should be force to endure because it is unimaginable to you.

 I really hope that you are fortunate to not have to face this in your pregnancy.  Despite your lack of compassion, I would wish nothing for you but a healthy full term pregnancy, followed by an uncomplicated delivery, and a healthy child.  I will however ask that you refrain from posting uninformed and insensitive comments about things you either have no knowledge of, or are unable to understand not having been in the situation. ~ Kim

Dear people planning on becoming doctors/nurses, don't study to be a doctor/nurse if you don't want to do your fucking job. If you have any convictions that will keep you from doing said job, treating people, or saving lives, clearly the health field is not the place for you. Maybe get a job in the local grocery store or something. If you're a health professional and I'm hemorrhaging in your hospital, I can die if you refuse to help me, but if you're some asshole cashier and refuse to help, I can find the cereal aisle on my own.

Wow, no. Just no. Your God is not everyone else's God and in all probability your God more than likely doesn't even exist so your God has not changed any minds and will not change any minds. Sorry. It wouldn't matter if your God came down to my front door, introduced his/herself and offered proof to his/her claim to be your God and told me that abortion is wrong and it should end, I'd still tell your God to go fuck him/herself. What do you mean they're getting more publicity/momentum? Pro-life has been ignorantly loud and proud for a very long time, I'm pretty sure abortion has only been legal since around, oh, 1973, so I'm pretty sure the "pro-life" side has been dominating for a long time. Honey, you can wish, hope, and pray all you want but abortion will not be outlawed and even if it were outlawed, do you realize how many people would die resulting from such a pro-life overturn of Roe v Wade? Also, there's times when pregnancy/childbirth threatens the life of the parent birthing it, are you saying that they deserve to die? Are you also saying people who are the victim of rape should lose the right to choose what happens to their body not once, but as many times as you say? There will always be a need for abortion, whether your small, simple, imaginary friend filled mind likes it or not.

Using someone's money is not the same as using someone's body. Once you understand that people have rights and no one (even fetuses, I know, crazy right?) can fuck with your rights by like, let's say, using your body without your permission, it'll make a whole lot more sense to you. Unless you genuinely believe that a pregnant person's rights just magically disappear once they become pregnant, in which case it will never make sense to you and you should probably just stop and gtfo.
