Make choices that cause the least amount of harm to our fellow earthlings, our planet and your health. With all of the alternatives today: being vegan is easier than ever.
Why endorse and allow suffering (the slavery, torture and slaughter of innocent beings) when you can choose to thrive on a plant-based peaceful meal instead?
Animals are NOT objects, their bodies (and the things that come out of their bodies) are not human food. It's time for you to realize that when you buy animal products from the supermarket, you're not paying for food; you're paying for slavery and murder.
A lot of nonvegans seem to think that there are no real alternatives to their favorite nonvegan "foods". The reality is that vegans have discovered an alternative to ALL animal products: it's called respecting the fundamental rights of other sentient beings. Nonvegans, you should give that a try. Seriously, I don't care if you think veggie burgers aren't as tasty as "the real thing". I don't care if you think tofu scramble tastes like piss compared to scrambled eggs. And I certainly don't give a shit if you think there are no good vegan cheese brands out there. None of that shit matters. At all. What matters is that you do not have the right to treat animals as if they were mere commodities. I know we often use terms like "vegan options", but they're slightly misleading insofar as choosing vegan isn't just one out of a number of options; choosing vegan is a necessity. Let me put it this way: I don't see dairy cheese as the "alternative" to vegan cheese any more than I see rape as the "alternative" to consensual sex. The "alternative" to veganism is slavery and slaughter, and as far as I'm concerned, that is no alternative at all.
Vegan food can taste pretty good if you know your way around the kitchen, but who gives a flying fuck? Seriously, if you don't want to go vegan because you think vegan food tastes like shit, you still don't get it. When I ask people to go vegan, I'm asking them to stop putting their taste buds above the lives of other sentient beings. If you tell me that vegan cheese is gross or that tofu is disgusting, I'm not going to reply to you with a list of delicious recipes; I'm going to try to remind you that palate pleasure doesn't justify slavery, torture and murder. Even if vegan food did taste like shit (it doesn't), that would in no way change your moral duty to respect the rights of animals. Nobody should be treated like a commodity just because you like the taste of their flesh and secretions.
