It’s that time again!

Hey writers! This is your chance for some self-promotion! Submit your fic with Your Work Wednesday after the title and we will post it!

The next YWW will be on October 7th! You have until October 5 to get it in- anything submitted after that will appear in the next YWW. Check out our submission guidelines if you haven’t already!

With your submission please include: Title + author (as a link) Fic summary Content warnings (AO3 major archive warnings + other content warnings) plus any additional tags as desired! Pairing or character of focus as applicable, approximate word count, and AO3 rating A brief statement about what you love about your fic!

Creator chose not to use archive warnings. Bisexual Andy, Canon-typical violence, pre-canon, implied/referenced character death, not canon with the graphic novel, they bone directly after this.

What I loved: Short, sweet, and with Andy and Quynh choosing each other in the aftermath of losing someone Andy loved. Standout line: “Twenty years is too long to mourn, even for Us.”

I love all of the takes expressed here about immortal biology! Dismemberment is discussed because Andy assumes that’s what Nile wants to talk to her about at first, which is darkly funny in its own right. I found all of these headcanons about immortal biology deeply plausible, and loved how the author explored them via conversation!

There are words Yusuf does not know how to translate. They will never, ever know all of the words. The prospect is thrilling. --- It takes Niccolò lifetimes to learn Arabic.

Your mods don’t want to just post our favourite fics- we also want to feature YOUR favourite fics!

Submit something you read and loved with Your Fave Fridays after the title and we will feature it here!

For submissions we’d like to see the AO3 style tags (especially for the main warnings if they apply- Major Character Death, Graphic Violence, Non-con, Underage Sex), and probably a tag for pairing at a minimum- this will just help people find your recs and works!

The navigation page has some tags listed, but is definitely a work in progress- I was guessing on common tags, but I’m actually collecting data on what tags we use the most, so that will update as we truck along. If you want to use those as a guideline, please go for it!

The first YFF will happen on Sept 11. Submit your faves by Sept 9. Anything submitted after that will appear on the next YFF!

Hello! A few of us have been talking about starting a rec blog for the The Old Guard- so we did it! A few short things about this blog: * We want to recommend fics we think are great and especially those we think do a great job of being sensitive to real-world issues in their approach (including racism) * All the mods love the Old Guard, and if you’d like to know more about them or their specific interests please check out our mod bios * Other fic rec blogs for this fandom may take other approaches or focus on specific ships / themes; ours will cover lots * We will include tags to help viewers on our blog decide what fics they do or don’t want to read * All fics submitted for consideration must be tagged for contents * Fics submitted should be done so with our submission guidelines in mind + will be reviewed * Mods reserve the right not to post fics submitted Ultimately the end goal would be to make a tag for people to share fics they have enjoyed or that fit that first criteria, and make a platform that gives people the chance to share it!
