Friendly Reminder:
Just like how the Winter Season can cause depression so can the Summer and we call it the Summer SADs (Seasonal Affective Disorder).
I know the song (Summertime Sadness by Lana Del Rey) probably has a different meaning to her but the first time this song came out was the first time I felt my Summer SADs being acknowledged.
The worst part about having Summer SADs is the gaslighting from commercials and everyone around you screaming:
"Summer is when the fun happens!"
I'm also a known extrovert who likes to hang out in my personal life but a lot of my friends want to hang out in the Summer which is difficult for me which is why a lot of my previous friendships have ended over my inability to hang out in the summer because my friends couldn't understand how a bubbly and outgoing person like me didn't want to hang out in the summer and just assumed I didn't want to hang out with them specifically. Some even thought I was secretly hanging out with another group of friends when I was actually at home depressed and shut indoors because of my Summer SADs.
Today is the first real day when my depression came with a vengeance so I've spent all day at home depressed and in my pj's.
