A blessing

I put a blessing on myself. My life, it is so good to have, It's full of laughter, love, and food, My days are generally good.

I make the world a better place, I work and play at my own pace. Some people like what I create And I'm not poor at any rate.

I'm rarely hungry, sad, or bored, The words I utter aren't unheard. There's happiness in every day, Good things are often here to stay.

All those I love live long full lives, I am surrounded by their smiles. They all get better every day, They die in peace, just fade away.

I have a cat or two or three And they feel happy, calm, and free. They live as long as cats can live, There's always love for us to give.

The world is learning from mistakes, We mend it, we do what it takes. We see our actions take effects, The world is shaped by our acts.

I'm mostly healthy, not alone, Excited to see what's to come. And you, who read this, bless you too. Spare a good word for me, or two.

Woke up with a poem forming

To the version of me that just had a nap

Hello, strange traveler, you, from the land of Death, You'll soon return to nothingness, alas, Remember that you're here as just a guest, You're dead to everything, but that will also pass. Just wait until the proper bedtime finally comes, And then the real me and you will switch realms.

I'm drowning every day

In the same waters

Consumed without a trace, gone with the flood

There's nothing left but what is left of me

I am the flood, the flood is me.

The last I saw you, your eyes were lit up by a smile, Yet, an untold ache was in them. You wrote a song for me and sang, I listened to it through the veil of time.

This song is mine and yet you don't know me. Nor I know you, lest truth be told. I see your soul in it, for everything is old, All felt and lived through, all of it before me.

I do not know which winter took you with, What plagued your body, wounded what your soul. I know you felt like me and others will, that's all. I'll too one day become a portrait of the old.
