Help save one of the country’s best loved collectives.
New theorists and activists argue that France's ''representative democracy'' is neither democratic nor representative, and they argue for a return to the Athenian model.
The Antifascist turnout was better than expected. We probably ended up doubling or tripling the nazis’ numbers. So we really made it clear who the Kansas City people stand with, and they stand against the NSM, the KKK and these white supremacists espousing bigotry and hate.
Unfortunately, one Antifa sympathizer was arrested after becoming so enraged they started throwing coins at the police and nazis. But aside from that it remained peaceful and the Antifa were successful in drowning out the messages of hate and ignorance with their noise demo. You should have heard how loud we got when the nazi speaker said he wanted KC streets to run with anarchist blood. Truly deafening.
There were several groups being represented on the protest side including Kansas City Antifa, Ida B Wells Anti-Racist Coalition, IWW, Socialist Workers Party, Communist Party, etc.
But I’d stay away from Westport tonight, the nazis are down there drinking and some say they’re armed so be careful tonight folks!
Thoughts on Addiction
The proverbial “they” find it much easier to write off another dead junkie than to make changes and provide help and support for those struggling with the crippling disease known as addiction and the horrible circumstances that led to it. As long as there are poor people shooting up in parks and alleyways I would much rather be an anarchist and actively work against the system than cash a fat paycheck and try to look the other way.

Earlier in Ankara, some activists pose with the shields they snatched from the police.
Over 1000 people - organisers said 1600 - marched through the streets of Perth in opposition to genetically modified organisms (GMOs) and the company Monsanto (which is one of the foremost proponents of GMO technology).
The rally was one of more than 400 actions that took place in over 60 countries as part of a global day of action.
The past 5 years have demonstrated to the youth of Britain that capitalism offers them no future. Youth unemployment has been at 22% (1 million) for years now. As with the rest of the crisis, it shows only signs of getting worse, not better.
The traditional route out for young people on an individual basis - higher education - is little better. With fees reaching unprecedented levels, student debt getting out of control, vanishing contact time and the promise of more unemployment to greet us at the end, it is no wonder less are applying to study.
Capitalism’s attack on the youth has changed consciousness. The ideologies of capitalism and the free market are in crisis and widely seen as discredited by young people. It is for these reasons that the Marxist societies that Socialist Appeal has helped set up throughout the country’s universities have grown so significantly.
However, these societies, which have been running in some cases for several years now, need to be put on a nationally organised footing. We have therefore decided to call for an initial meeting in late June in London to prepare for a founding conference at a later date. This will take place during theMarxist Summer School we are also organising. All members of Marxist societies around the country are invited to attend and participate in the founding meeting and the Summer School, as are any other interested students. Full details are listed below.
Of course, we cannot determine the decisions of this meeting in advance. But we are proposing that the meeting agree to national federation of Marxist societies, with a clear membership structure, and rights for both individual members and for affiliated societies. We should also discuss and decide upon an initial steering committee, a date for the formal founding conference and ideas for campaigns the federation can lead.
