The Little Legends

Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons are linked games currently playable through Nintendo Online's base tier. Completing one game unlocks additional story aspects in the second! While they can be played in any order, I'd recommend starting with Seasons. Or you can read walkthroughs here and here, or watch here and here!

A Link to the Past introduced several firsts in the series; it's the source of the Master Sword, the tendency to have you rescue a certain number of sages or maidens, the locations of Kakriko Village and Lake Hylia, several songs that became iconic to the series, as well as what would become a repeated game formula of having to unlock three initial dungeons which then initiate another stage of the game with many more dungeons to go.

And let us not forget, of course, that it's the game that gave us pink-haired Link with a Dark World bunny form.

A well loved classic with many re-releases across multiple consoles, it's currently playable via Nintendo Switch online. A guide can be found here, or you can watch a let's play here!

This is such a cool event! Many thanks @kaite--s for tagging me and for creating so much wonderful art and writing for the community. One day I will be able to read Spanish and enjoy your ravioli stories in their full glory!

To add my work into the collection, I am working on a fanfic with MANY headcanons ft. Ravio and Link (specifically Legend from Linked Universe, who has been on SIX adventures).

The story is Retired Assets. And I’m creating both the story and its illustration.

This is a story born out of visual art, and I wish to keep the symbiosis going forward.

There is a darker spin on both Ravio’s and Link’s character as the protagonists navigate loss, grief, feeling of incompetence and self-doubt.

I will never pass up an opportunity to mention the best post-canon Spirit Tracks fic, The Gauntlet Track by cyada!

The main premise here is that young Zelda, daughter of ST Zelda, wants to do nothing with ruling New Hyrule and would rather be an engineer like her dad, but has to team up with the ghost of Wind Waker's Ganondorf (yes, really) to save the kingdom from the return of Malladus.

This fic has everything: it's funny, it's cute, it's heart-wrenching, there's a couple of carefully laid-out plot twists in regards to certain characters that had me almost screaming on my first reading, the themes of both Spirit Tracks and Wind Waker's narrative are examined in a really clever way, not to mention that the worldbuilding is stellar! I never say this about fanworks, but this one might as well be canon in my eyes — that's how good it is.

Alright, for this one I'm going to highlight an amazing artist who make some great AoL art. It's the lovely @yasmeensh! You ever find an artist that has brilliant ideas(that make you think about things in a way you've never thought of before) AND the skills to properly show them off? Well, Yasmeen is one of those artists. If you've looked for AoL art before you've probably come across them, but I just wanted to give an extra special shoutout. I've written a small handful of fics and I'm proud of them all but out of all of them I think Lyre Lyre is my favorite. It's meant to be Octavo recounting his backstory, what he used to be and what motivates him, in a pithy style as if he was speaking this out loud like a monologue. I've seen a few theories about where Octavo came from, and I wanted to do something entirely unlike anything any of the common fan theories. Here's an excerpt!

Cycle of Destiny is similar in that it's presented as a monologue with Octavo outlining the formula of your usual Legend of Zelda game. The game In Stars and Time really inspired me to imagine the time loop he's in like a play being performed over and over. Try Try Again was actually inspired by ISAT as well, where Octavo forces the loop to restart because he doesn't think it will on its own, to poor Link and Zelda's dismay...

What Must Be Done was my entry for the @hyruleconcerto zine, exploring Octavo's attempt to persuade the king that Ganon is coming, and the brief time period between that and his takeover. I am always fascinated by those scenes we get brief glimpses of, in this case the cutscene we get in the beginning of the game where Octavo is performing for him. How did he get there? What did he do to prepare? It's all fascinatingly open-ended. I have a few other fics besides this one but I think these are my best.

As for art you can find all of mine in my blog's octavo tag, and for other peoples' art you can check out my fanart blog! There's too much great stuff just to feature a few pieces, and I've spent some time tag-diving to rediscover art that hasn't gotten much attention in a few years.
