If only Tommen were the elder instead of Joffrey, Sansa thought. I wouldn’t mind marrying Tommen.

IT’S AN ~INNERESTING THOUGHT~ RIGHT!?

The issue that comes to my mind personally when I think of Tommen being the eldest and Sansa being betrothed/married to him though, is how being the elder could have potentially changed Tommen’s character. Yes, Tommen is a kindhearted character and is a fundamentally good person. It’s stated multiple times, and by multiple characters, how both he and Myrcella are so different from both their mother and older brother. However, had Tommen been the eldest, he still would have probably received the same attention and grooming for ruling from Cersei and Robert and Tywin that Joffrey did. He could have (and probably would have) been the subject of Cersei’s hyper-focused attention and manipulation into the kind of King she wanted him to be. He could have grown up with that sense of entitlement and false impression of being all powerful and indestructible.
