I can’t imagine being someone like Betsy DeVos. She’s worth billions of dollars. She could retire forever on an island somewhere. But she chose to go through a grueling public humiliation just for the opportunity to take school away from poor kids. Could you even imagine being that depraved.
Here’s the truly terrifying thing about people like Besty DeVos... She actually believes she is in the right.
- She believes that opposing public schools is the right thing to do.
- She believes that challenging federal protections for students with disabilities and repealing the the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act is the right thing to do.
- She believes that protections for students with disabilities being left up to the states will help the education system.
She actually thinks that these are valid steps that will help improve education in America... Can you imagine being that ignorant and that privileged and just that fucking wrong.

For the love of God, WHY do people continue to fixate on the issue of The Emails™
Look, she can’t ~just release~ the freaking emails. The NSA has those emails on Fort Knox style lock down I guarantee. Do you have any idea what level of security clearance would probably be required to gain access to them?! HILLARY probably doesn’t even have the clearance required for the damn things at this point.
If she could release them I bet she would have by now no matter WHAT they said just to get everyone to stop being so gd extra about it.
On the other hand, it is COMPLETELY within Donald Trump’s power to release his tax returns. He just chooses not to.

now that donald trump is the actual GOP nominee this is your reminder that voting for a Democrat You Hate is still a useful harm reduction procedure that will cancel out a vote for Trump. please practice harm reduction. please, even more importantly in small/red states, vote all the way down in your local races where the margins of victory can be 100 votes or 10 votes, so your state legislature/governor/etc will be strong, if/when everything on the national level goes to hell
believe what you want about your vote not having the intended or ideal level of power, believe what you want about the electoral college or the modern role of voting in a democratic society, believe what you want about american centrism or flawed systems, but don’t let anyone tell you there’s “no difference” in the general election, please don’t let anyone tell you voting does nothing. your vote CAN and WILL protect vulnerable people and help you stand in for people whose votes are being taken away by a gutted VRA and gerrymandering
