#i honestly cannot help but roll my eyes when people start in on the ''ruining a character'' thing#like... my dudes...#you DO NOT have to listen to other people#and also...#they DON'T have to listen to you#people are NEVER going to have the exact same interpretation or headcanons or characterization or WHATEVER#and that's F I N E#you don't HAVE TO GAF what other peoples' headcanons or interpretations or characterizations are#like obviously people are going to annoy you and piss you off#but go complain about it in private with like minded people#and keep it out of the tags and comments and comment sections of peoples' fic#it is VERY important to be an asshole in private so that you don't act like an even bigger asshole in public#(that's an ancient proverb btw)#if other people can really ~ruin~ a character for you...#it might be time to re-evaluate why you love that character in the first place#they are everyone elses' to love as well#the fact that they love them in a different way#doesn't need to have any bearing on you#they aren't your boss#and they aren't your mom#fandom#tp
