I'm so intrigued by your five &Leela and seven & river wip?? Have you listened to the bf audio with seven and river?
Oooh you’re smart, you asked about two in one go, which I guess means I’m contractually obligated to tell you about both of them XD
The Five and Leela story takes place during Time in Office (which I highly recommend listening to) because they’re just so soft in that audio and I wanted to write a longer scene with them. I actually have the whole thing written out in a notebook but I have yet to type it up and edit it. For now, here’s the beginning!
The Doctor crept silently through the halls of the Capitol, keeping his ears open for any sort of noise to indicate that someone had discovered him.
“You are not very good at sneaking around, Doctor.”
He jumped in surprise and bit his lips to keep from calling out. Leela—for he knew in the instant after his panic that the voice belonged to her—chuckled, coming into his line of sight.
“One day I shall have to teach you the art of stealth.”
The Doctor sighed and straightened up, trying to retain some shred of dignity. “I was doing rather well, wasn’t I? There are only a handful of people in the universe who could escape your notice, Leela.” He paused. “Which begs the question, what are you doing out here?”
The Seven and River story, yes, was inspired by TDoRS S2! It was in the back of my mind ever since I listened to that boxset, and incidentally, I wrote the whole thing down in one sitting and periodically keep forgetting that I wrote it at all. :P My problem is that I’d like for it to be similar in tone to other River/Doctor fics I’ve written, but it’s not, so I’m trying to decide whether to change the whole thing or keep it how it is. This is a snippet towards the end:
The Doctor scowled. “What do you want with me?”
“I just want to talk.”
He huffed. “You don’t need to reserve an entire beach to do that.”
“If I were going to kill you, I would have already done it while you were asleep. Besides, I’m unarmed.” That wasn’t strictly true, but he didn’t need to know that.
“Yes, yes, I know,” he muttered distractedly. His eyes took a slow survey of the sand and the waves like he was trying to find a means of escape.
River set her drink down and turned onto her side. “What do you remember?” she asked, attempting to bring his attention back to her.
“The pirates, the cell...” The Doctor turned his piercing gaze on her. “You were there, of course. How did you get away?”
River grinned. “Ingenuity, and a tiny bootstrap paradox.”
Thank you for the ask! ^-^
