On Valentine’s Day, Douglas surprises Martin with the most romantic bath anyone could possibly imagine. Martin is too moved and happy to say anything but lets his cuddles speak for him. Douglas, naturally, understands.

We are very excited to announce COiNELOT, a Merlin/Arthur convention to be held in October 2016 in Berlin.

We, the organising team, are: @tracionn and @momotastic27

COiNELOT is a fan-run convention with the once and future one and only aim of bringing fans together to talk Merlin, and especially Merthur, to exchange opinions, to sob and giggle, to swoon, and to simply have a weekend filled with love for our beloved OTP.

There will be activities from Friday to Sunday such as panels, games and quizzes with prizes, a feast, and many chances to chat and discuss our favourite show and characters.

Hopefully there will be many, many people in cosplay (DO IT DO IT DO IT!) as there will be a contest. (Information on that will follow closer to the date.)

There will be – fingers crossed – lots of fandomy things to buy as we encourage everyone to bring their arts and crafts to sell. (You hear that, dear artists? Come and make people happy!)

COiNELOT is your opportunity to meet up with fellow shippers and people you haven’t ever met in real life but have been talking to and flailing with online for years! It’s about time, we think.

While this convention concentrates on the Merlin/Arthur relationship in all its variations, we definitely support every ship and hope for a respectful, tolerant, and open atmosphere.

The convention will be held in October 2016, and we’re sure that that gives you enough time to plan, save, sew and to get really, REALLY excited.

Booking will be open soon. You can find all important information as it becomes available on our tumblr, @coinelot, or on the convention website.

Of course we’re also more than happy to answer questions! We will publish answers on the blog in the hopes of spreading information more easily, however we will respect your wishes for a private answer. The FAQ section will expand accordingly.

Euroairdotcon fic workshop (for those who couldn’t be there)

Hello chaps!

I’ve said several times to various people that for those who couldn’t attend the con last weekend, I would be happy to run my panel online via the fandot chat after the event. Now the dust has settled a little and I’ve caught up some sleep, I thought I’d offer to arrange it. I’m thinking of running up to two sessions - you’re welcome to come to both if you like. You’re also welcome to join in if you’ve already done the panel at the con - the more the merrier!

There’s absolutely zero experience of writing required - I’ll just run three fun games to hopefully spark your creativity. I imagine the concepts involved in the exercises could be transferred to art too, though I’m no artist so I’ll leave that to others to decide!

If people just want to hang out in the chat while we’re playing and be social, that’s fine too of course :) And there’s no pressure to share what you create if you don’t want to - you can decide if you would like to allow others to read or whether you’d prefer to keep whatever you write private.

Unless anyone who’s more regularly in chat than me thinks that I’m clashing with something in existence already (like a creativity night if I don’t know about it), the first date I have in mind is Friday 18th Sept (7pm BST/6pm GMT). If there are lots of people who want to play but who can’t make that date, I’ll also try and arrange a second date in the future - let me know if this is the case, drop me a message.

Yours, Mine

Douglas found the first post-it on the kitchen table, on it written in Martin’s handwriting ‘You’re my love, too’. Douglas picked it up and smiled, remembering warmly how he confessed his love to Martin just last night.

The next note appeared after Martin met Douglas daughters. Douglas recalled the afternoon and once again smiled at the happy memory of Martin getting along with his daughters and Douglas kissing him quite senseless later with long-missed happiness. That note said ‘I’d be proud to be part of your family’.

There were more notes over the next weeks and months, almost always in response to Douglas’ voiced praise, joy or feelings.

Until one day there was a post-it quite unexpected, yet not less welcome. While Martin got dressed, Douglas went to brush his teeth and there on the mirror the note was, saying: ‘Will you be my love forever, will you give me the honor of being yours?’

Martin tries really hard to concentrate on the subject during readings but Professor Richardson with all his knowledge and his smirks and his sass and his voice (God, his voice!) doesn’t make that easy and more often than not Martin is more fascinated by the lecturerer than by the lecture. (Him! Him getting distracted from the lecture!)

The day he got his certificate is the happiest in his life, probably also because Professor Richardson - Douglas by now - kisses him his congratulations and confesses that Martin caused quite some fascination too in this sky god here.

And then they fly together happily ever after.

Richardson’s disdain towards the young sailor, Madam Knapp-Shappey promotes him to First Mate, and the pirates’ raids take a turn for the interesting…
