Marvel Studios’ Loki Season 2 | Designing For The Decades
Marvel Studios' Loki Season 2 | Episode 2 Promo 2 Trailer | Disney+
Trapped in a time loop? You’ll get over it, with time.
Marvel Studios' Loki: The past, present, and future have all led to this.
Marvel Studios’ Loki Season 2 | Your Place At The TVA
Loki, starring Tom Hiddleston as the Asgardian God of Mischief and Sophia Di Martino as the Lady Loki variant Sylvie, was a massive success for Marvel Studios on Disney+. One of the breakout characters of the series was Alligator Loki. He even got his own snappy theme song. And Marvel Comics is ready to cash in on the success of Alligator Loki by giving him his own Infinity Comic series.
The Infinity Comics are a comic book format that is exclusive to the Marvel Unlimited app, which can be read vertically like webtoons. The Infinity Comics have had some significant successes under their belts, like the series It’s Jeff!. It’s Jeff! followed the adventures of Gwen Poole and Wade Wilson/Deadpool’s pet land shark, who is just as cute as Star Wars’ Grogu/Baby Yoda.
And now it’s about time for Alligator Loki to get the same treatment. Written by Alyssa Wong (Star Wars: Doctor Aphra), inker Robert Quinn, colorist Pete Pantazis, editor Katelyn Gregorowicz, and penciler Robert Quinn. Alligator Loki will drop on Marvel Unlimited on March 11, and Marvel describes the first issue as:
“Family Bonding.” Alligator Loki and Thor get to know one another at an Asgardian amusement park!
Perhaps Alligator Loki could turn up in Loki season 2 alongside Owen Wilson’s Morbius M. Mobius, who will be taking on new roles in the Time Variance Authority (TVA) after the death of He Who Remains/Kang the Conqueror (Jonathon Majors) opened the new Marvel Multiverse. Loki season 2 will also bring back Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Judge Ravonna Renslayer and Wunmi Mosaku as Hunter B-15.
HiddlesBirthdayWeek 2022, Day Two: Favourite Role
President Loki is hands down (or should that be hand bit off?) my favourite role of the past year.
It’s the costume, the seductively persuasive purr, the confidence, the growling voice, the sass, and even the histrionic high-pitched screaming. It’s the winking, the indignation, the eloquent hand flicks, the nod to the comics, and the whole pantomime of Tom’s performance. It’s the fact that it’s still Tom Hiddleston playing a version of Loki, yet it’s distinct from the Loki Laufeyson we know and love.
But perhaps most of all, it’s the fact that Tom is clearly having an absolute blast playing the role.
And though the last time we saw him, he’d lost one of those elegant hands and was being launched into a popcorn machine, I would LOVE to to see him again.
Because it’s Loki. Elevated.

Loki director Kate Herron has explained the alternate version of the Time Variance Authority (TVA) headquarters that appears in the final moments of the season 1 finale. Loki follows a variant of the God of Mischief (Tom Hiddleston) that was created as a consequence of the Avengers’ time heist in Avengers: Endgame. This version of Loki is captured by the TVA, an organization that is dedicated to keeping the Sacred Timeline intact. He works with Mobius M. Mobius (Owen Wilson) to track down dangerous Loki variant Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino), who is evading capture by hiding in apocalypses and killing TVA Agents.
The Loki season finale, “For All Time, Always”, saw Sylvie and Loki journey to the End of Time in order to face He Who Remains (Jonathan Majors), the creator of the TVA. Despite their growing bond, Sylvie betrayed Loki in order to finally get her revenge, pushing Loki through a time door and sending him back to the TVA so that she could kill He Who Remains. It is revealed in the episode's final moments that Loki has been sent to an alternate version of the TVA. Mobius and Hunter B-15 (Wunmi Mosaku) no longer recognize him and there is a statue of Kang The Conqueror in place of the mysterious Timekeepers.
Now, Herron has explained more about the alternate version of the TVA, especially as the organization was previously understood to exist outside of space and time. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Herron explains how she believes Sylvie intended to send Loki back to the original TVA. However, as the timeline collapses and the multiverse branches, “reality has shifted” and Loki “has unfortunately been sent back somewhere very different.” Read her full quote below:
“So the way I see it in my head is that the TVA exists outside of space and time, but reality and everything as we understood it has completely changed in the last few minutes. With the multiverse branching, how do we know the TVA still exists in that way? We don’t know, and I suppose that’s a big question that will be answered as the show goes on. But in my head, the intention is that Sylvie thinks she’s sending him back to the TVA, but because of the way time and branches are crossing each other outside the window, Loki has unfortunately been sent back somewhere very different. So reality has shifted just by the nature of what He Who Remains said, and the idea is that he’s in this alternate TVA now.”
This explanation arguably makes it clearer why the multiverse begins to split before Sylvie kills He Who Remains aka Kang. Reality is so unstable that even the TVA can no longer exist in a single form - given that Sylvie and Loki's bonding on Lamentis caused a major nexus event, Sylvie’s betrayal of Loki would be more than enough to kickstart the multiverse. That being said, Herron suggests that Sylvie’s intentions were to send Loki back to his allies, which hints that their bond did have a meaningful impact on her even if it couldn’t stop her from getting revenge.
As Herron will not be returning to direct Loki season 2, she is free to speculate alongside fans about what the multiverse branching means for the TVA. As she notes, the consequences of Loki landing in this alternate TVA are sure to be explored in the Disney+/Marvel series’ second season. Whatever Sylvie’s intentions were in the season finale of Loki, it’s clear that her actions are going to have major consequences on the future of the MCU.
