Jughead spends the morning of December 31 steaming his suit and pacing around his living room.
Normally, he’d relish the chance to stay in, maybe clean his apartment, try to reflect on the year in some overly sentimental writing he’d never share with anyone. But this New Year’s Eve is different.
In the shower, Jughead thinks of nothing but Betty. How she’ll look tonight. Whether they’ll dance. (Almost certainly, at least as cover for their fake relationship.) Whether he’ll have the guts to say what he really wants to say before the clock strikes midnight.
After a week of going back and forth on whether Betty loved him back, Jughead finds himself standing in his suit, adjusting his pre-approved pink tie, and staring at Betty’s Christmas gift, sitting unassuming in his closet. On a whim, he puts it inside his suit jacket.
One day late isn’t too shabby! Happy, Happy New Year to you, Sarah @theheavycrown!
