Sea Jade by Phyllis A. Whitney, 1966. Paperback detail. Illustrated by Harry Bennett.
old decrepit book covers have the BEST vibe
[ID: nine book covers, all old, worn, and slightly damaged. i don’t have the energy right now to do a complete description for all of them, but in order:
in the first row there is the shining, a yellow cover with a face illustrated into the letters; the if readers of science fiction, a black cover with some kind of little green space contraption, and jaws, which shows a massive shark coming up underneath a swimming woman. the lower right corner is missing.
in the second row there is the best from fantasy and science fiction (13th series), a blue cover with a lot of yellow text and a red illustration of some groovy scifi thing, dracula, a white cover with a sideways image of a bat that turns into a skull on one side, and old yeller, which shows a photo of a boy and a dog sitting on a branch. there is a tear in the middle of it like somebody did a bad job ripping off a piece of tape.
in the third row there is 20000 leagues under the sea, which shows a large squid attacking a vessel, world’s best science fiction 1968, a red cover with some kind of tall space apparatus standing on a rocky surface, and the incredible journey, which has a large yellow square with a small image of two dogs and a cat in the middle.]
