Great read. I have contemplated this a few times when thinking critically about some of my favorite comic book stories.
Very interesting video essay on Marvel’s color grading style. I can’t say I’ve noticed, but I see his point and it makes a lot of sense. At the same time, I’ve never longed for any Marvel movie to look more like Pacific Rim or Mad Max. I could see the reason being that Marvel wants it's movies to be grounded in reality as much as possible. If that's the case, I appreciate it. Realism has always mattered to me, and I think you can make it matter even when what's happening is obviously fantasy.
