please share any of your under appreciated/you just want to rant about them faves here (comics runs, arcs, events, characters, concepts, etc.)
I’ll go first. You all are sleeping on Hartley Rathaway aka Pied Piper. He’s one of dc’s first openly gay characters and he’s a redeemed villain turned leftist king as well as the best friend of Wally West and Linda Park. You can find out more about him in the Messner-Loebs and Mark Waid flash run.
Also Damon Matthews and Todd Rice (aka obsidian) are such an underrated couple from the Kate Spencer Manhunter run and Todd Rice is an angsty mentally ill gay man with show powers and both mummy and daddy issues. He should be doing numbers on tumblr.

Hallucinations and psychosis suddenly making Todd an uncontrollable fountain of rage and fear? No. Hallucinations and psychosis peaking at a time Todd was estranged from his support network giving Ian an in to gaslight and manipulate him? While also making him more impulsive? Yes.
Victim blaming? No! Todd still being accountable for many of his actions? Yes!

At this point JSA/Infinity Inc really has to be written by anyone with vague sensitivity in regard to writing mental illnesses (and in particular psychosis) and who will at least try to depict mentally ill characters is a respectful and non-ableist way.
