Double knitting

Have you ever tried double knitting and been frustrated by having to move the yarns back and forth after every single stitch?

Double knitting creates two layers of fabric. When knitted in two colours, each layer has the same pattern, but the colours are reversed.

The main principle of this technique is to knit the stitch of the front layer with one colour while holding the other yarn in the back and purling the stitch of the back layer with the second colour while holding the other yarn to the front. That way the yarns will not interfere with each other and there will be no strands on the outside of the work.

Actually I need your help to donate for my mother's treatment, as my mother suffers from blood clots in her foot and cartilage in her back and neck and needs treatment and needs a bed and a medical mattress. This happened in July 2024. We noticed her tiredness and she went to the hospital. This was due to displacement and walking a lot due to lack of transportation. The doctor wanted her to rest. Don't even worry about all that

After a year of deteriorating conditions and a severe lack of aid, Mohammed Al-Habil (@alhabil) & his family are in an incredibly dangerous situation. He and his wife are parents to 3 very young children: Ahmed (8), Osama (6), & Mira (4). Their children's elderly grandparents are also with them. Over the course of the last year, they've all become increasingly unwell, but right now Mohammed & his wife are terrified for their children and his parents.

Winter just started and its only going to worsen their situation. Mohammed urgently needs to be able to buy food and warmer clothes for all of them (especially his children), and medication for his parents. He needs to raise about 2k as soon as possible to do this though, so please donate whatever you can !

No matter your answer, I'm sure we can all agree that doctors are very important in a society. Darine (@drdarine) is a 20-year-old medical student in Gaza who aspires to be a doctor. She is a very kind and selfless person. Even though she has lost her home, her university has been bombed, Darine still uses her medical knowledge to help children in need by volunteering at UNRWA refugee camps and shelters.

However, even as Darine dedicates her time helping other people, her own family is also struggling. Darine is from a family of 7 and she has 4 younger siblings: Ahmed (19), Nadine (16), Judi (13), and Maryam (8). They wish to evacuate out of Gaza, but as you must all know by now, evacuation fees are very high. There is barely any food and water available, and these basic necessities are only getting more and more expensive! This is in addition to the frequent bombings they have to face! Israel has been bombing UN shelters and targeting medical personnel, so even as Darine helps people, she herself is also in grave danger!

Darine and her family have been raising funds for more than 8 months now, but they have still only managed to raise a little over $5000! Moreover, this campaign is often stagnant. Please, please give them more support!
