Today’s Doodle: Corythosaurus casuarius
Hadrosaurs are rad, man. Dinovember artists, let's see some duckbill love!
Another awesome new dinosaur! Machairoceratops hails from Grand Staircase-Escalante National Park in Utah, a hotbed of recent discoveries. During the Late Cretaceous the dinosaurs of the Southwest were separated by water and mountains from their more familiar cousins in the North. Much of this area is being examined by paleontologists for the first time. This means whole new tribes of horned dinosaur, new tyrannosaurs, and a whole new ecosystem to explore. In the last 15 years more than 20 new dinosaur species have come out of Utah, with no sign of slowing down. I'm stoked for the future, guys :)
Today’s doodle the second: Eoabelisaurus mefi
*In retrospect, his arms should be a bit longer. Abelisaurs are famous for their nubbin arms, but Eoabelisaurus, being towards the base of his family line, was a bit of an exception. His arms had the all the bells and whistles—functioning wrists, elbows, and everything! Oh the luxury ;)
