Continuing my Astolat bookbinding collection, I bound Royal Flush by @astolat!! My favorite Game of Thrones fic, and one that's I've gone back to re-read more times than I can count!! I'm super happy with how this bind turned out; I had learned a lot in binding Heal Thyself that made binding this one much easier. Fanbinding: Royal Flush by astolat

Its been a long time coming but I am very happy to show off one of the books I made for the annual Renegade Exchange! My giftee was @pleasantboatpress, and when I saw they had Royal Flush on their request list I knew *immediately* which fic I was going to bind. I had IDEAS. And then I got a little overambitious about it.

For this project, I was determined to use leather for the first time (this one uses bonded leather). I wanted full frame gold tooling. I wanted raised cords. I wanted fancy dropcaps. I sewed endbands myself for the first time. and I had a VERY SPECIFIC in my head that then demanded I draw my own art for the cover.

Truly, I love this story lots and I know manda does too! I was so excited to make a book from a story we both went crazy over.

This mad story (which is complete at 173k words long) has taken me a year to wrangle to the end. As I got close, I was going to advent calendar it, and then it was going to be for Hanukkah, but I was still fighting my way out of it with much help from @cesperanza and lim, and now it's DONE and I'm too impatient to wait for the 12 days of Christmas so it's going to be *waves hands vaguely* the solstice to the new year!

As I've done before, I'm posting untagged and will add tags when the whole monster is up. Speculation and conversation welcome in comments!
