Someone ordered a super special, super huge version of this super cool poster. I just got it from the print shop today - it's totally rad.
SNES not included!
Check it out you guys, every year some friends of mine get together and watch Hal Needham’s 1977 trucking genre-classic “Smokey and the Bandit.” We drink cold ones too. This year I decided to make a couple posters to commemorate the occasion. They’re available at Etsy, of course.
Limited-edition Smokey and the Bandit poster by The Daily Robot.
This week is, I believe, my 1-year-ish anniversary of becoming a RedBubble seller. If memory serves (it may not, I was on vacation at the time, kind of) I dropped this Air Man T-shirt design as part of my opening salvo of apparel. Listen: Some (many?) people on this planet have ordered shirts with my art on them in the last year, and that is so cool, it's crazy-awesome. If you are (or ever become) one of these people, thank you, it is incredible to imagine people wearing art I have made, you probably don't even know.
You guys, last week I went to ActionFest, which is about as great as it sounds. On the flight there I drew John McClane, because of course I did. Like that robot from awhile ago this drawing was made using Paper for iPad.
There's only one man I trust with my business cards.
Another shirt! This one's pretty self-serving, I'll admit, but I'm pretty sure every website is required to have shirts with that site's name plastered all over them available to its rabid legion of fans. That's the rule, right? Well, even if it's not, this shirt is available in a bunch of colors over at RedBubble, and I'm pretty sure that having one in your closet'll come in handy when the Mechanical Uprising comes. You can ORDER YOURS HERE.
An awesome person who purchased on of those Portal-themed posters I made sent this in to me earlier tonight. It is super flattering when strangers send pictures of something you did up on their wall. Anyway that's it.
Oh but also you can still get one if you like.
COMING SOON from my DAMN MESSY DESK to YOUR (presumably cleaner) Wall!
These start shipping out en masse TODAY. There are still a few left.
This came for me in the mail today from Carmel, who you may or may not remember from our rapidly-abandoned attempt at movie-review-blogging. A note that accompanied this robot alludes to the fact that it had been in her possession for "literally" years, awaiting its transfer-of-ownership to me. I do not know why someone would consciously deprive me of a robot, but let me make this clear to anyone reading this who might currently be harboring a robot they plan on bestowing upon me at some point in the future: do not wait, give me all the robots.
P.S. what I mean to say is, thank you very much Carmel for this robot, it is awesome.
Also, for people who like weird technology happenings, I took this picture a little before 11p.m. EST, but my digital camera's internal clock is two hours ahead of Actual Time, so this is what the image file's metadata looked like when I first loaded it onto my computer, proving that - like so many things on this website - the future is Now.
Hey, remember when I promised there would be a new robot on Monday? Turned out that didn't happen. Imagine my surprise, then, when I checked on the hit-stats for the day and found that basically a ton of people came to look at The Daily Robot. It turns out that the LA Times linked to us at the absolute least opportune time (a 3-day film festival-inspired hiatus, and a front page of not particularly awesome robots). Regardless, it's still awesome. I guess I'd better deliver some serious goddamn LOSTbot action later today. MAYBE. In the meantime maybe all you savvy new readers could throw some Votes Our Way since we're in a contest.
