LOYAL POLICIES!
We are going to try an experiment- really doing science, you could say. Our Fair City is going to be re-released!
What? What are you talking about?
The world of audio fiction (and otherwise) has changed a lot since we started making Our Fair City in 2009. Distressingly- the social, political, and artistic themes we were engaging with in the show just keep getting more relevant. We want to bring this show to new listeners- but understand that the long feed and lack of current releases can be a barrier to entry. SO: On August 5th, we’re going to temporarily remove the episodes from the podcast feed. Starting in September 2024 on the existing feed, we are going to release seasons 1 and 2 rapidly in a 30-day period. It’s going to be almost daily. Starting in October, we’ll be releasing episodes weekly. We hope you will be excited to listen along with us as it’s released again!
But I love Our Fair City and I can’t stand to wait to listen to it! What do I do? For anyone who gets into the show and *just can’t wait* for weekly releases, we will have all 8 seasons available, ad free, as part of the Audacious Machine Creative membership starting in September. Membership is $5/month and gets you access to all of Our Fair City and ad free feeds of all our other shows. You also get some fun Our Fair City bonus content - like all of the ringtones we produced while the show was originally releasing. Check out more about becoming a member here.
Also, is there anything comparable to current day seasons in hartlife? As a way to keep time, or something
The HartLife equivalent to the year is the Fiscal Cycle, with each Cycle divided into four Fiscal Quarters—-roughly equivalent to the four seasons!
Thank you so much for weighing in on the events that have surrounded the US, especially in the wake of what your show has in fact told us not to do. Hopefully we can learn from the (hopefully not prophetic) story line, and may we do better in the future.
Thank you for listening, and we really, really hope that our story is a warning rather than a prophecy.
Stay safe, keep fighting. We’re not giving up, and we’re not going anywhere.
Hey, anyone want to go on an (Internet) tour of HartLife studios?
The first page of the comic I wrote for the Our Fair City anthology (vol. 2). Everyone (me included) is pretty pleased with how this one turned out. I should do this whole “making stuff that then physically exists in the world” thing more often.

So this happened.
The first executives of Strexcorp used to be movers and shakers for HartLife, but struck out on their own when they felt that the company wasn’t fulfilling the potential it had to expand its reach beyond Hartford. What saved them and brought them out of the harsh, unforgiving snowscape of the outside was the protection of a Smiling God, in exchange for their and their future constituents’ unwavering devotion.
The Board of Directors is honored by the comparison, and has always admired the fine, fine work done by the hard working and loyal employees of Strexcorp.

Loyal Policies,
We are incredibly excited to announce that the launch of Season Six of Our Fair City will take place on January 17, 2015!
Season Six will be returning to a 20-episode season format, with episodes ranging from 10-20 minutes in length released every other Wednesday throughout the year.
We will also be kicking off the season in style at the Flat Iron Arts Building in Chicago, in Collaboraction‘s Room 300, in all the corporately approved grandeur you’ve come to expect from our events. The address for the space is 1579 N Milwaukee ave, Chicago IL 60642.
Festivities will include: complimentary themed food and VIP refreshments, music by DJ Catnip, a HartLife-themed photobooth, an appearance by Geoship Pilot Captain Cassandra Wilkins, lighting by Bri Johnson, sets and environments design by Melissa Schlesinger, shadow puppetry and sculptural art by Makena Levine, a raffle and silent auction, and much more!
Appropriate corporate attire or post-apocalyptic costuming is welcome, but not required.

Loyal Policies of HartLife,
We are so very excited to announce that, after mountains of paperwork, miles of tape (red and otherwise), and the intense scrutiny of the Internal Revenue Service— HartLife has been officially recognized as a 501c3 not-for-profit organization!
This will mean a number of things for our organization—including expanded capacity to make even more art as new revenue streams become available.
HartLife and its flagship show, “Our Fair City,” have been supported by a large number of INCREDIBLY generous donors over the last three years who have given their hard earned money to our organization with no gain other than the abiding satisfaction of supporting innovative new art in the 21st century.
With this new tax status, HartLife NFP can give back to you! Any donations made to the company will be tax deductible: not only do your donations to HartLife NFP help make great new art, but they also make good financial sense!
We’re so excited to have this recognition and vote of support from the powers that be, and we hope that your continued support will allow us to continue to grow the company and keep producing the audio storytelling that you’ve come to know and love.
If you’re interested in making a tax-deductible donation to support Our Fair City and HartLife, it couldn’t be easier: just click here! You can also set up a recurring donation, helping ensure our long-term stability as a growing institution in the world of audiodrama.
Thank you so much for your continued support, and as always,
We’ll see you in the tunnels,
Jeffrey Gardner Executive Producer HartLife
