honestly one of the best things we can do for ourselves is realize that people of different ages than us can still be the same kind of person as us. it's humbling and it gives everyone involved a sense of continuity, and it busts those stupid generational stereotypes media is so fond of.

And all those people who go 'I could never IMAGINE having anything to talk about with someone who isn't within three to five years of my age' will slowly realize that...they have been their whole lives, sometimes without even knowing!

Nerds and writers and artists and activists and people who make really funny but true points in their posts and that person who gave you great advice, or who asked you for advice, or who commented on your art or wrote your favorite fic or kept your fandom alive or made that meme you keep quoting to your friends or made you feel less alone about your sexuality or gender identity or neurodivergence -

All different ages, different GENERATIONS, much less races, religions, cultures, identities, etc.

Vary your social circle. It's great for you. And it stops those echo chambers that like to be forced upon us.

the Cain plot was actually crazy bc wdym the writers said yes here’s Cain but Abel’s not important. What IS important is Cain had a wife and she was the only person who could stop Cain from becoming a monster (flashbacks provided). Now here’s a parallel of Dean and his “best friend” Cas that follows the exact play by play of Cain and his wife. Oh but it’s strictly platonic we’d never make Destiel happen. HELLO??????

Still reading QotD and this bit in which Anne goes meta and self-roasts her first two books (and both Louis and Lestat, let's be honest) made me laugh out loud

the more I think about it, the more it makes sense that pirates of the caribbean 2 & 3 were the nails in the coffin for disney on any type of big budget, on location, practical effects movie that sent them spiralling into green screened warehouses, like the sheer audacity of these films

you listen to the commentaries on these movies and everyone's like "yeah this is never going to happen again" and they were right
