Hermione: I don't fancy Harry, Ginny. He's like the younger brother I've never had and I know for a fact that Harry feels the same way about me.

Harry: She's like my sister; I love her like a sister and I reckon she feels the same way about me. It's always been like that. I thought you knew.
The most touching thing for me in the Goblet of Fire was the hug that Mrs Weasley gave Harry in the Hospital Wing after the Third Task.
Almost everyone was giving Harry sympathetic looks and words of comfort, but Mrs Weasley could see a boy in distress and gave him a hug and the thing that gets me about it is that Harry had no memory of being hugged like that and he noted that it was if he were being hugged by a mother.
I think Hermione telling Ginny to be herself around Harry and to go out with other people was a great step for Ginny’s character development.
The moment we first see Ginny in The Goblet of Fire, her personality starts to shine through and she’s a lot chatty with Harry.
My favourite Ginny moment in The Goblet of Fire is when she puts both Harry and Ron in their places when they start to mock Neville.
“Because they’ve both been turned down by girls they asked to the ball,”
Although her appearances in the Goblet of Fire are brief, Ginny being more confident and coming out of her shell are a great prelude to her increased role in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.
By meeting Michael Corner at the Yule Ball and going out with him, Ginny is taking Hermione’s advice to heart by seeing other people. As Harry himself says:
“Smart girl, that Hermione,”
