Out of the rubble
After the battle, Hogwarts lay in ruins and the Heads of the Houses stood in the crowded Great Hall pondering what to do. It was decided that a request for help would be sent, asking for volunteers to help rebuild the castle.
To the Heads of House’s surprise, the call was answered and from up and down the country, witches and wizards poured in and rubble was cleared, glass was repaired and statues became whole again. There were still scars that couldn’t be truly healed but Professor Flitwick vowed to preserve them as monuments.
Out of the rubble, stood a castle whole again and it was decided by Professor McGonagall that Hogwarts would open up again in September for future generations of witches and wizards. A monument in the grounds was erected to honour the sacrifice of those who died in the battle and Professor Sprout planted many shrubs and flowers around it.
It was vowed that the students of Hogwarts would never again have to suffer the cruelties that they had to endure under the Carrows and Delores Umbridge. Students were given counselling during the extended summer holidays and they returned in September a lot happier.
Scars remain, but Hogwarts moved forward and the castle always remembered those who sacrificed themselves.
