To start off: You are one of her attempted murderers. It doesn’t matter that this was spoken after the fact. And now you are still attempting to kill her.

You care so much about racism and fatphobia, but nothing about the suicidal? Tumblr preaches it to the sky about not telling people to kill themselves. Are you listening?

Zamii once drew Fluttershy as a Native American, which I am (Navajo). Did I find it offensive? Nope. Love the attempt at representation. It was actually well done, and didn’t mock my culture, especially not intentionally. The correct reaction to any mistakes made would be to calmly educate her on clothing and tradition. (You want inaccuracy? Try Pocahontas.) Approached lovingly, her wall of defense stays down, her ears stay open, and peace rules. Change can take place. This is what I wish for everyday. Change. Life. Not doom. A person is more than the mistakes they make.

Zamii did not really hurt anyone. Zamii is young. Zamii has value. Zamii can and will make mistakes. Zamii is human. The appropriate reaction is gentle education and civil discussion, not a lynch mob.

But YOU told her she should die. DIE? For THIS? For FANART? DIE? Commit SUICIDE? SUICIDE? I repeat these words in hope you will understand how GRAVE they are. They are serious, deep words. Life is too important for a few mistakes to be the end of it.

You’ve suffered under the rage of everything negative you’ve ever seen directed at the PoC and LGBTQ communities, and instead of doing something actually productive with it, you’ve lashed out all that internalized furor at ONE person and sentenced her to death by your own words. This is a highly disproportionate reaction of violence and hatred to a non-violent situation. It is not ok. I am disappointed in you. You are better than this.

The only person who truly did something disgusting is you. Zamii didn’t attack anyone, YOU did. We want Zamii to change, to grow; NOT TO DIE. Do you not wish to see her grow? To change? To help? She is so YOUNG. She is good, and can be so much better. I want to speak life into this, to give her hope. To let her know she has a future.

I really hope you change your mind and see the error in your ways, because I believe all people have the spirit of good in them. You are a good person; it’s in you, but you are not showing it. I believe people are worthy of second chances, and I believe people can change–IF understanding and kindness are extended to them.

Before you deal with the wrongs in others, deal with the darkness in yourself. Then you will have clarity to teach. But until you can approach others with the spirits of love, you will destroy all that you touch and have the blood of many on your hands–like hers is already. Only darkness can come from hatred. No one regards the words of a hateful lecturer, but they will a loving teacher. Sometimes harshness is warranted, but not this time.

We want Zamii to grow, not die. Life is too precious to throw it out over something like this. Please reconsider your response.

As for me, I don’t see what the hibbity flibber is about. Nothing she did really is all that offensive.

Holy crap. Just wandered through @matriarchalmuffin blog and I need an acid shower. So much vitriol and bile. Something is definitely not right in that head.

I really wish people who tell someone on suicide watch to kill themselves would be charged with attempted murder.
