Papercut art is one of my favorite forms of traditional Jewish art and there's nothing that comes close to the magic of a papercut Ketubah, so that was what I drew inspiration from for @theartguard's bimonthly theme: Ceremonies and Rituals
I put a LOT of little details in this and their meanings are listed under the cut:
Nicky inspired by Turkish Olympic shooter Yusuf Dikeç.
(Because of course I had to…)
I have been obsessed with the headcanon that Jean-Pierre is Booker’s son with Andy (since he was born after Booker gained his immortality) and the original drawing has been sitting in my WIP folder for almost two years before I decided to redraw it. And I’m so glad I did because I adore how it turned out! Sometimes coming back to a piece really is worth it.
Please enjoy this tender little drawing of a moment of peace for everyone 🥹
Sebastian Le Livre - The Hanged Man (or drowning in a sea of sorrows)

Tumblr's being a buttcake about this piece so I posted it to Ao3 for everyone to enjoy there! Please appreciate the 🍆🫡

I have absolutely nothing to say for this except the horny brainworms took over. Please enjoy the art (and PLEASE open cautiously. It’s a LOT.)
The Old Guard is still such a big thing in my life, and I'm still here after four years and will continue to be. It saw me through some crazy moments in my life and more to come. Big changes happening for me and I hope to get back into drawing and writing soon for these two blorbos I still love a ridiculous amount. Drew these two in their sequel looks for TopJoe's monthly banner in the hopes that will we see them again SOON! DO YOU HEAR ME NETFLIX?? RELEASE THE FILM!
I know, I know. This has been done. Many times. (Hell, I have done it.)
But there’s a reason why that moment in movie history meant so much to so many of us. And four years later, it still means so much to me.
Because The Old Guard didn’t just do the bare minimum and acknowledge that gay people exist, it gave us immortal warriors. It made Joe and Nicky that couple — soulmates with an epic backstory of falling in love with your enemy. It let them be deeply and passionately in love. On screen. In the most romantic and badass way possible.
And then it gave those roles to Luca and Marwan, who gave it their all and managed to bring that to life in so many small, yet impactful, ways. I will forever be grateful for that. Nothing comes close.
(And let’s hope next year we have one more movie to celebrate. 🙏)

“They are both thieves then. And this time it’s Nicky who leans in to steal another kiss. He swears it’s the last one. He just wants one more moment of Joe’s warm lips against his own. To linger, with his eyes closed, for another shared breath. “
