Funny story, I actually started writing this during a trip about two weeks ago, and I didn’t even know sormik week was coming up until a few days later…at which point I determined that I definitely needed to post this in time for it. So, here we are! This is essentially a modern AU, so no seraphim or magic here. The nerdy archaeologist boyfriends are still nerdy archaeologists though, so no worries there. ;)

Since I came up with this story before seeing the daily prompts, this won’t really follow them, although I do plan on posting a new chapter each day this week! Mostly because this fic quickly became so much longer than the one-shot it was originally intended to be OTL

The word “soulless” was so cruel.

The deep-purple of those twilight eyes were perhaps so bewitching as to be frightening, the shimmering glass of scales adorning those pale arms might be unnerving in their beauty, the lyrical voice like lost ocean breezes might give off the appearance of an elusive creature from imagination – that was the allure of the so-called soulless creatures of the sea, rumored in legends to lead sailors to their deaths and bring storms. Only something without a soul could drag lives down to the unknown depths and drown them. Maybe in taking the lives of the innocent, these mythical creatures could hope to steal their souls.

But Sorey knew better. He knew such legends were nothing but malicious tales painted in fear for the unknown sea and its equally mysterious creatures. For Sorey, that mystery brought the urge to discover, and now he could sit on the dock marveling his greatest discovery yet.

Sormik Week Day 1: Water – Healing, Passivity

I finished waaaay ahead of schedule but here’s some soft Sormik for your needs in Sitcom AU!!! 

Lil background: Sorey and Mikleo are both 15 in this (Edna is 17, Dezel is 14 but he doesn’t appear it doesn’t matter). Sorey is Lailah’s son from her previous marriage and Mikleo was the son of Lailah’s best friend…who died. (And was Yuan’s sister) So he’s like…adopted. But he calls her mom. Lailah and Zaveid are now married at this point (they’re not in the main sitcom au timeline) and Edna and Dezel are Zaveid’s kids from a previous marriage (and Eizen but he’s different). 

Also bc in Sitcom AU I really wanted Sorey and Mikleo to play soccer?? I played soccer in grade school so

It’s been one hell of a fun ride so far with a dash of slow suffering  (ง'̀-‘́)ง  thank you so much for hosting this wonderful event @talesofsymphoniac! Im sad its already nearing its end…

I really adore the lyrics of ‘Clarity’ but it wasnt that fitting so tadaaah I was too lazy to draw Sorey and Mikleos Armatus but you get the drift

And so that’s a wrap. I’m sorry I’m late with this, but there is no way I would’ve been able to finish it on time. It was an idea I toyed with some time before and never drew. Sormikweek gave me a chance to polish it off nicely and draw it. Honestly I am really proud of that Heldalf even if you can’t see him in detail, like omg

Still trying to catch up on soymilk week stuff before I head off to work…

College AU with the two dweebiest anthropology majors to ever grace Glenwood University Ladylake campus.  Both are on the archaeology track, but Mikleo has a concentration in ethnobotany and Sorey has one in linguistics.  :)
