BOOKS READ IN 2018     ↳ Wychwood by George Mann

❝ And what cautionary tale is that, Mr. Williams? ❞ said Peter.      ❝ That once we start down a dark path, once we allow the corruption in, it spreads like poison and takes root. That ultimately, power corrupts. Look at politicians today. Look at the mess they’ve made. Tell me that isn’t an abject lesson for us all. ❞

THE ELDER SCROLLS RACES + LOCATIONS     ↳ Dunmer of Morrowind

Morrowind, previously named Dwemereth, Veloth, Resdayn, and Dunmereth, is the province in the northeast corner of Tamriel. It is dominated by the large island of Vvardenfell and its centerpiece, the ash-spewing Red Mountain, but also includes territory on the continental mainland. The Inner Sea separates Vvardenfell from the mainland, and the Sea of Ghosts lies to the province's north. Solstheim, an island in this sea near northwestern Morrowind, has not traditionally been associated with any particular province, though Morrowind had long maintained a theoretical claim to it. The Nords of Skyrim conceded the island to Morrowind in 4E 16 following the Red Year, allowing the Dunmer to settle it without contest. The Dunmer, also known as Dark Elves, are the ash-skinned, typically red-eyed elven peoples of Morrowind. "Dark" is commonly understood as meaning such characteristics as "dark-skinned", "gloomy", "ill-favored by fate" and so on. The Dunmer and their national identity, however, embrace these various connotations with enthusiasm. Their combination of powerful intellects with strong and agile physiques produce superior warriors and sorcerers. On the battlefield, Dunmer are noted for their skill with a balanced integration of the sword, the bow, and destruction magic. Dunmer live two to three times as long as humans; with a 200-year-old Dunmer being old and a 300-year-old Dunmer being very, very old. In character, they are grim, aloof, and reserved, as well as disdainful of other races. Dunmer distrust and are treated distrustfully by other races. They are often proud, clannish, ruthless, and cruel, from an outsider's point of view, but greatly value loyalty and family. Young female Dunmer have a reputation for promiscuity in some circles. Despite their powerful skills and strengths, the Dunmer's vengeful nature, age-old conflicts, betrayals, and ill-reputation prevent them from gaining more influence.

your edits are so pretty, especially the hogwarts seasons ones! are you going to post the spring ones soon?

@ anonymous

Ahh, thank you! I’m glad you like them! I won’t be posting the Spring-related Hogwarts houses until late February, early March. I want them to really fit the feeling of Spring starting, similar to how I posted the Autumn and Winter ones near the beginning of their respective seasons.

THE ELDER SCROLLS RACES + LOCATIONS     ↳ Kamal of Akavir

Akavir, also known as Dragon Land, is a continental landmass east of Tamriel. The two continents have a history of animosity towards each other, with Akavir invading Tamriel several times in the past and Tamriel invading Akavir at least once. There are four major nations on Akavir, each with its own race. The Kamal are a race of snow demons who live in Akavir. The word Kamal means "Snow Hell". They are said to resemble giants made of snow with huge ice crystals bulging out of their backs. The snow demons spend the winter frozen solid, but when summer comes, they thaw out and attack the Tang Mo, always unsuccessfully. In the mid Second Era, they nearly invaded all of northern Tamriel. Their king led a huge naval assault which landed just by the White River. The city of Windhelm quickly fell to the invaders, but they were fought off as a result of the formation of the Ebonheart Pact.

THE ELDER SCROLLS DAEDRA     ↳ Hircine

Hircine is a Daedric Prince whose sphere is the Hunt, the Sport of Daedra, the Great Game, the Chase, and is known as the Huntsman and the Father of Manbeasts. Hircine created the various therianthropic diseases which transform mortals into beasts, and is therefore the guardian of were-creatures. They reflect his sphere admirably, hunting at night and being hunted by day. Hircine's existence appears to have been discovered later than other Daedric Princes, as he doesn't appear in the most ancient records and summonings of him were rare or non-existent. Early in the Fourth Era, visitors to Hircine's plane of Oblivion, the Hunting Grounds, described it as a realm of thick forest and open plains. If the horn of Hircine is heard there, it announces Hircine himself and his pack of werewolves. Hircine is a sportsman who enjoys giving his prey a chance for victory, however small. He is typically portrayed with a great spear and either the head or skull of a deer.

hey since your "star wars planets" series was inspired by/copied from aimmyarrowshigh, you ought to add an 'insp' credit :/

@ anonymous

My series wasn’t inspired by or copied from anyone or anything except for my interest in Star Wars, reading the Wookiepedia pages, and thinking, “Hey, those would be cool aesthetic boards!” I’ve never seen any of the edits that aimmyarrowshigh has created until you sent me this. A quick Google search just now showed me that two other people on Tumblr have also done Star Wars planet aesthetics (edit: and probably more, if I bother to look into actual tags). Just curious, but do you go around to every graphics maker who does similar themes? God, that must take a lot of time, especially considering there are so many, like Hogwarts houses, Star Wars characters, mythology, witches, etc. How do you get any work done?
