happy birthday Percy Jackson, sorry some of your closest friends fucking died on your birthday
being normal about trc is impossible because. well. gansey and his bees and his kings and his long determined fate. ronan and his dreams and his knighthood and his knife edge smile. adam and his magic and his mind and his ambitions. blue and her amplification and her curse and her bravery. and noah, who has been dead for seven years.
criminally underrated ronsey interaction imo
Blackthorns: We don’t have a type!

Once again, I will NEVER understand how Cassie haters and/or TMI haters think that she in any way glorifies incest.
Having just read THAT CoLS scene with a batshit crazy, violent, angry Sebastian raving about pure family bloodlines and quoting random ass biblical passages in the most feral possible manner, I cannot CONCEPTIALIZE the "lol cc likes incest" argument. Like, the POINT of that entire scene was to condemn Sebastian's freakish incestuous need for Clary. Not to mention how the Clace incest plotline, while strange, was basically an explicit portrait of child abuse in one of its worst forms.
I also want to say that writing-wise, THAT CoLS scene is possible among the best-written parts of TMI. It invokes an absolutely visceral reaction, and people's horrified feelings are exactly as the author intended.
Sometimes authors just need to write something fucked up. They're not condoning it.
This is why the Sebastian/SQ story is going to be SO awesome, btw. Cassie knows how to handle really fucked up shit and write it really compellingly.

oh yeah don’t mind me i’m just thinking about how blue and gansey are technically the main characters of this story but it’s still not entirely about them and how ronan isn’t the hero of this story but he is the hero of a story that branches off from it and how adam would’ve been the villain in a worse version of the story but he had too much loyalty to the narrative to let his friends go and how the story could never be about noah but it also could never be about anyone except for noah
Although I do understand why so many YA protagonists are anti-having kids because of the dangers of the world they live in or just because they're young and unsure if they want them, I love Percy Jackson. He lives with danger and trauma everyday and yet still from the get-go of his relationship he's like: "Annabeth and I are having sons and daughters--our daughter will have blonde hair like Annabeth but my crazy personality and she'll be a super fierce demigod--and wow New Rome is such a safe place for a family; Annabeth and I can hold hands over a café table and watch our kids chase seagulls across the forum." And he has these thoughts at sixteen.
Don't forget that when Percy meet Sadie Kane, his first thought was that she looked exactly as he pictured their daughter.
