#TBT to mid 2014 when I had to explain to a supposedly-knowledgeable hockey fan that claims Kings fans “aren’t REAL hockey fans” why Dustin Brown didn’t call the entire team over to celebrate winning the Campbell Bowl.

They were going on and on about how whoever the NY captain was called the team over and they all took photos and celebrated and how wrong it was that Dustin Brown just let all the Kings go back into their locker room.

Like...really?  You claim I don’t know anything simply because of the team I like, but I really had to explain one of the biggest Playoff superstitions there is to you?  Lol

it’s not even preseason yet and the “trade Dustin Brown” comments are already popping up in the comments section of Kings articles. 

Good grief guys, just because Brownie didn’t have a good season last year doesn’t mean that he doesn’t deserve a chance to make it up this season! Give him a chance before you start making the “Trade Dustin Brown” comments.

Oh my god, already???

Sorry to do this on your post, but it’s Rant Time:

I don’t understand how people can basically stand there with their eyes closed and their fingers stuffed in their ears screaming “TRADE BROWN, TRADE HIM!!!!!”

There were a lot of issues with the Kings’ play last season, and a lot of people have found it very easy to throw blame on Brown (especially after Richards was moved out to Manchester and was no longer their to “share blame”).  

I don’t really even want to go deep into addressing the fact that I don’t understand how people can throw a hissy fit demanding for their AWARD-WINNING CAPTAIN (he’s legit won awards for his leadership) to be traded and not feel at least a little ashamed.

I just want to know exactly how they think ripping Brown away from the team he’s been leading (overall, very successfully) for seven years is going to go be some ‘magic fix’ for the Kings.  The players have said for years that they are an extremely close-knit locker room, and that that plays directly into their performance on the ice, but sure, let’s throw the captain away because his numbers are down.  That’ll fix EVERYTHING! :D
