So who wants to tell me what’s going on in this picture?
Okay, so let me tell you what’s going on.
Please notice that this was just a quick drabble, and english is not my first language. I also did not read it again once it was done so it might contain a few mistakes.
Damn, I usually don’t even write??? I used to when I was like 12 years old but not anymore. So don’t expect much skill.
Cold. Her hands felt so cold through that few inches of glass seperating them. His gazing green eyes met her blue ones. For him they've always had the color of the sky. She didn't deserve to live like that. Just because of his mistake, they managed to capture the love of his life.
His name is Adrien Agreste and ever since he was younger he vowed to dedicate his life to exploring the world and to see places no eye had ever seen before. Yes, he loved to travel and as soon as he had been eight years old he would accompany his father, Gabriel Agreste, a well known salesman. Adrien probably saw more in his life than a dozen of Paris' ordinary citizen would. And he loved it. The younge blonde boy loved to spend his time on foreign land. And of course, he grew up. His father soon would expect him to join his company, to become a salesman as well. But that wasn't quite what Adrien wanted. Admittetly, yes. He loved helping his father. But not because of the money. As he got older and as his father came to accept that his very own son would not be the heir of the company, he wasn't allowed to travel any more. The young adult spent his time at home, reading dozens of books to satisfy his cravings for adventures. Sometimes his fiancée, Chloé Bourgeois would come to visit him. It was an arranged engagement of course. Gabriel was convinced that having his son marry into aristocracy. And not even Chloé would understand Adrien's wishes. They had been together ever since they were children and Adrien considered Chloé his only friend. Ever since he was forbidden to travel, he had little to no contact to other people. As his soon to be wife, Chloé was the only one who was allowed to visit him. Yes, Gabriel was obviously disappointed by his own son refusing to follow his wishes. And that's why Adrien had to stand the consequences. It was another one of those days when Chloé was visiting him. She would try her best to start any kind of conversation. About how ridiculous that italian lady Lila looked during the last celebration. Or how her maiden, Sabrina, suggested to wear the same dress twice. But Adrien wouldn't listen. He would sometimes nod or say "Interesting" whenever his fiancée was waiting for any sort of reaction but it was obvious that he didn't love her. "Did you ever think about... running away?" He didn't even realize how he said that thought out loud. But then Chloé snorted. "Running away? There is no need to. I'm living a perfect life, whatever I want, my father makes sure I get it. I'm lucky here." Adrien gave her a sad and weak smile while he kept looking out of the window. Everyone in Paris seemed so happy. He felt like he was the only one who was not. It was this exact day, after Chloé had already left, that Adrien decided that it was time to leave. He was sure, he would never find his own happiness if he wouldn't try to live his own life. As the sun set already, the blonde took some clothes that Chloé once brought him as a present and he would never actually wear because they were too... excentric for his taste but it would do its purpose. Disguised as he was now he took something else with him. A mask that he got from one of his earlier travels to the kingdom of China. It was supposed to look like a black cat and there was no doubt that his father would recognize him if he was to see him. But Adrien did not worry about his father, he was simply concerned that the people would recognize him as Agreste's son. "Goodbye father, I can't stand seeing our family's emblem any longer.", he mumbled as he snuck out and passed some portait paintings of him and his father infront of his family's emblem: A butterfly and a peacock. Signs of pride and beauty.
And that's how he started his journeys once again. And yes, they made him feel free and happier. But it wasn't perfect. Until he met her. He had never seen such a stunning beauty. The first thing he noticed about her wasn't her red fishtail, covered with sparkling scales. No. The first thing he saw were her eyes. Filled with fear, yet some fighting spirit they stared at him. Those eyes had the prettiest shade of blue he had ever seen. Her name was Marinette. Adrien never really believed in mermaids until he met her. She hadn't been careful enough and was caught by a wave that had washed her ashore. Of course Adrien helped her to get back into the safe floods. But she didn't say anything else than telling him her name. And even after he couldn't see those mesmerizing scales anymore, Adrien kept staring at the sea, still trying to grasp what just happened. That must've been love at first sight. Each day, Adrien returned to that particular shore, hoping to see her again. Two weeks later, he started doubting the events. What if he just dreamed them up? But his doubts faded away as he finally saw her again. There she was, in the shallow water, glaring at him with those amazing eyes of hers. From that day on, they would see each other often. They would talk about their different worlds and problems. They would develop a bond that felt much stronger than anything Adrien ever felt. And then it happened. The henchmen of Gabriel Agreste found him. Of course, he knew that it would be impossible to stay hidden forever. But that was unimportant compared to that other problem. They also found her.
And there she was. They had captured her, locked her away. Her once so beautiful fishtail now lost its shine. Marinette, who had always been strong, now looked afraid and desperate. Yet he knew that she was incredibly happy to see him. He craved to touch her real, warm and soft hands instead of this cold glass. "I'll get you out there, my lady."
