-a bit of a twist tho, just like the movie, Eddie and Waylon are bestfriends since childhood when Waylon understands Eddie doesn't have the best home life. But Eddie (despite being a major playboy and major closeted boi), has strong feelings for Waylon and they're actually soul mates,and thats why Eddie can't seduce Waylon or hurt him.
-can't decide if Waylon ends up killing Eddie not.
-the band that preys on Eddie is called Murkoff ((lead singer Jeremy Blaire))
-instead of just making out, Waylon and Eddie have a saucy night, Eddie appearing befote Waylon, solemn and Waylon asks what's wrong ((never a car incident)), Eddie explains he can feel Waylon no matter where he goes and Eddie asks if its the same for Waylon. Waylon remembers flashes of visions when he was Lisa before he rushed home from these "hallucinations".
-Seeing Waylon's distraught look, Eddie starts caressing him and one thing leads to another. Its only afterward that Eddie reveals his true nature that he's becoming something more than human and explains he killed someone to sustain himself.
-of course at this point Waylon demands him to leave. The next days, Eddie is almost deliberately ignoring Waylon or is really unnoticing of Waylon after their nught together. Waylon meanwhile looks longingly from a far and can't come face to face with Lisa and ultimately breaking up with her because of it and for her safety.

Tbh im in love with my own 80s au of weddie so i want to share some trash with you about it.
-That denim jacket is Eddies favourite jacket and refuses to tell the story behind it to Waylon.
-Waylon only learns this after he starts getting stares from around the school while carrying eddies jacket to return it to him.
-After learning about its importance to Eddie Waylon asks why Eddie would lend him such a precious thing.
-Eddie gets pretty annoyed at all Waylons questions and demands him to drop the subject revealing a shiner and a cut brow from the last time they saw eachother.
-Waylons of course a new kid (well returned to his home town to his mother after his father took his own life from a too much cocaine whilst they lived in miami).
-Waylon resents Jeremy because he reminds him so much of his father and Jeremy uses this to tease Waylon by making Waylon call him "daddy" all the time. But doesnt last lonh when he gets the shit kicked out of him on the first days of Waylons arrival to school by non other than Eddie.
-this scene at the start of this au is what makes Waylon petrified of Eddie at first. Eddie even disregarded the teachers that were holding him back when they were escorting him to the principals office.
-Eddie reveals later that when Jeremy was bullying Waylon about this he was triggered and his PTSD made him see red.
-Whilst going to the bathroom Waylon overhears someone talking. Once Waylon is finished in the stall he runs into Eddie as Waylon was trying to hurriedly get to the sink making hin drop his cigarette. The quarter back, whom Waylon recognises as Chris freezes up and cringes, Waylon realised he must have made a grave mistake.
-Eddie starts to flare up, looking like hes about to explode like he did to Jeremy, but to Waylons panic, he looks calm as he backs Waylon up against the wall and nonchalantly starts asking profane questions about Waylons sexuality.
-Eddie explains he'll give Waylon a head start to run but warns him that Eddie has been asked countless times to join the football team for his uncanny speed and brute strength.
-Waylon bolts and can hear Eddie down the hall chasing him until he's pulled into an AV room by non other than Miles.
-Waylon explains his situation and Miles finds it peculiar as Eddir would have snapped there and then and never gives anyone a chance
-Chris got held back, but has a scholar ship due to his status in football
-they refer to Walrider as people that get scholarships
-billy Hope is a bright student with a troubled past but has a scholarship and jumps from studying at college and attending highschool
-Billy Hope was much the same as Eddie until he suddenly changed and started to get straight A's
-Eddie was given the chance for a scholarship (considering its very rare as its a very poorly kept public school) but at every turn he willingly sabotaged it.
-Waylon later learns about this from Miles and wonders why he doesnt go for it. Once he started to hang out with him, he brought this up with Eddie and Eddie would joke that then he'd leave Waylon all alone and ended up getting beat up by a lower class bully lile Jeremy Blaire.
-Waylon would explain that Eddie doesn't have to keep "protecting him". Then Eddie would openly admit that he wouldn't see him as often as he'd like.
-they refer to scholarship students as Walriders because for most students its a hard wall to jump over to get into a good college or any for that matter and the people who get scholarships "have a free ride".
