Hey Y’all!
Lately, I have been posting a lot about music and I am really loving it so I thought I would continue on with it this week! I have written run of the mill album reviews before so I thought I’d spice things up and start song-by-song album reviews! I’ve mentioned Charlie Puth quite a few times in my blog and how much I love him and his music so I thought I’d start the series with his new album- Nine Track Mind.
One Call Away- This song has such a cute message and was a great opening to the album as it shows the kind of artist Charlie Puth is.
Dangerously- Charlie's vocals in this song are literally so swoon-worthy. I have read somewhere that he has perfect pitch and this song shows that off so much! I listen to this in the car while I’m driving and the high notes at the end of the bridge kill me.
Marvin Gaye- I have loved this song since I saw him perform it at the 2015 AMA’s with Meghan Trainor. (They have a snog at the end!) Both of their voices mesh together amazingly!
Losing My Mind- The beginning of this song is really weird but it fits in with the title and the brief of the song. The beat is pretty cool, though.
We Don’t Talk Anymore-This song is the reason I love Charlie Puth's music. My family is literally getting so sick of this song because I play it at least five times a day. His high notes at the end kill me every time.
My Gospel- When you listen to this song, listen to the lyrics because they are so sweet and adorable and I love it! I love this so much, I sat down and I learned all of the words so I could sing it on repeat.
Up All Night- This song feels so raw and you can hear the emotions behind it and I love it so much.
Left Right Left- As soon as I heard the music, I knew I was going to love it and then the lyrics began and I loved it even more. I like the motivational message behind it.
Then There’s You- This was one of my favorite songs before I listened to the whole album. It reminds me of in a movie when the boy and girl see each for the first time and instantly falls in love. It leaves me with a butterfly like feeling and I feel so wholesome, aw!
Suffer- This song has a similar tune to “It’s a Man’s Man’s Man’s World” by James Brown and that’s all I could think about when I was listening to it but I really like the notes Charlie hits so it’s a win-win.
As You Are- This song is so chill and I can imagine listening to it on a beach road trip. Very lovely.
Some Type of Love- I love how the verses felt so chill and then the chorus came and filled me with joy. So good!
See You Again- This was one of the biggest movie soundtrack songs of 2015 after it was used in Fast and Furious 7 and to me, it feels like this song was Charlie's real debut into the music industry. This is such a beautiful song.
Happiness is… Charlie Puth
Until Next Wednesday… Have Happy Thoughts xx
