Do you ever just think about how lovely and cool all of your friends are and think "damn, I freaking love these people?" Bc same
Hey Y’all!
It’s Christmas time! What comes with the joys of Christmas time? Food! Last Christmas, I gave you guys a “Nutella Mug Cake” recipe – if you want to read that, I’ve leave a link right here --> ( http://the-happythoughts.tumblr.com/post/135373138853/hey-yall-the-holiday-season-is-here-and-i-could ) So, to carry on that tradition, I thought I would give you another holiday style treat. Yum! If you love the movie Frozen and all things cold and cutesy – I introduce to you - “MELTED SNOWMAN COOKIES!”
You’ll need – -250 g of cold butter -Half a cup of granulated sugar -1 large egg -2 and a half cups of flour -1 teaspoon of vanilla extract -Pinch of Salt (This gives about 35 cookies)
Directions 1. Put all of these ingredients into a food processor or a bowl and mix until the dough forms a smooth ball. Then, wrap the dough with cling wrap and leave to chill in the fridge for an hour. 2. After this, roll the dough out to a thickness of about 3mm and sprinkle lightly with flour. 3. Cut out circular shapes. They can be as big as you want, depending on how big you want your cookies to be. Just remember that the cookies will expand in the oven! 4. Lay the shapes out on a tray. Remember to put down a baking sheet so the cookies don’t stick to the tray! 5. Bake at 180 ° C for about 15 minutes and then cool on a wire rack. 6. Once they are cool, it is time to decorate! You can decorate them however you want but if you want to get the “melted snowman” effect – follow the next instructions. 7. Firstly, you need to cover the top of the cookie in icing to get a “puddle” effect because your snowman has melted! Put 1 and a half cups of Icing sugar, 25g of butter and 1 tablespoon of water or milk into a bowl and stir with a wooden spoon until nice and glossy. I recommend putting the icing on after the cookies aren’t hot, otherwise the icing will melt and drip off. 8. While the icing is still wet, put a small white marshmallow anywhere on the cookie for the head. 9. From here, you can use anything to create the arms, nose, buttons and what not. You can use chocolate chips, edible gel, sprinkles! Anything really!
Happy Baking!
Happiness is… Snowman cookies! Until next Wednesday… Have Happy Thoughts
Hey Y’all!
Lately, I have been posting a lot about music and I am really loving it so I thought I would continue on with it this week! I have written run of the mill album reviews before so I thought I’d spice things up and start song-by-song album reviews! I’ve mentioned Charlie Puth quite a few times in my blog and how much I love him and his music so I thought I’d start the series with his new album- Nine Track Mind.
One Call Away- This song has such a cute message and was a great opening to the album as it shows the kind of artist Charlie Puth is.
Dangerously- Charlie's vocals in this song are literally so swoon-worthy. I have read somewhere that he has perfect pitch and this song shows that off so much! I listen to this in the car while I’m driving and the high notes at the end of the bridge kill me.
Marvin Gaye- I have loved this song since I saw him perform it at the 2015 AMA’s with Meghan Trainor. (They have a snog at the end!) Both of their voices mesh together amazingly!
Losing My Mind- The beginning of this song is really weird but it fits in with the title and the brief of the song. The beat is pretty cool, though.
We Don’t Talk Anymore-This song is the reason I love Charlie Puth's music. My family is literally getting so sick of this song because I play it at least five times a day. His high notes at the end kill me every time.
My Gospel- When you listen to this song, listen to the lyrics because they are so sweet and adorable and I love it! I love this so much, I sat down and I learned all of the words so I could sing it on repeat.
Up All Night- This song feels so raw and you can hear the emotions behind it and I love it so much.
Left Right Left- As soon as I heard the music, I knew I was going to love it and then the lyrics began and I loved it even more. I like the motivational message behind it.
Then There’s You- This was one of my favorite songs before I listened to the whole album. It reminds me of in a movie when the boy and girl see each for the first time and instantly falls in love. It leaves me with a butterfly like feeling and I feel so wholesome, aw!
Suffer- This song has a similar tune to “It’s a Man’s Man’s Man’s World” by James Brown and that’s all I could think about when I was listening to it but I really like the notes Charlie hits so it’s a win-win.
As You Are- This song is so chill and I can imagine listening to it on a beach road trip. Very lovely.
Some Type of Love- I love how the verses felt so chill and then the chorus came and filled me with joy. So good!
See You Again- This was one of the biggest movie soundtrack songs of 2015 after it was used in Fast and Furious 7 and to me, it feels like this song was Charlie's real debut into the music industry. This is such a beautiful song.
Happiness is… Charlie Puth
Until Next Wednesday… Have Happy Thoughts xx
(Feel free to leave some comments or shoot me a message telling me what song by song album review you want to read next! x)
Hey Y'all!
In my last post, I talked a bit about music predictions and some artists that I think are going to be huge in the future! (If you haven’t read it and want to check it out, there is a link at the bottom of the post!) So, I thought for this week, I’d write a post merely based on that and about some more artists that I feel should get more credit for their amazing work! Music is happiness to the soul, am I right? Let’s get into it!
1. Charlie Puth I know that Charlie Puth is already pretty big with all of his Billboard Music Awards but I feel like he is going to be even bigger in the future! Everybody knows at least one song from artists like Taylor Swift and Beyoncé and I feel like Charlie Puth is going to get there too! Every song he releases is better than the last! My absolute favourite song at the moment is ‘We don’t talk anymore’ which features the beautiful Selena Gomez and it seems to be a lot of people’s favourites as it went platinum in three countries!
2. DNCE As soon as I saw Camp Rock in 2008, I fell in love with the Jonas Brothers! (I’ve recently started watching Scream Queens and Nick Jonas slays omg!) Even though Joe is in a band that is not the Jonas Brothers, that is completely okay because he is releasing amazing, catchy music with his new band DNCE. If you hadn’t heard Cake by the Ocean, you need to listen to it right this second. I think they are going to be huge!
3. The Girl and the Dreamcatcher The music that has been released by Disney’s fabulous duo, Dove Cameron and Ryan McCartan, is absolutely fantastic! Their voices work together to create this wonderful music that can go from cute songs that feature ukeleles to emotional pop ballads. I feel like these two could follow in the footsteps of other successful Disney stars like Demi and Selena and headline in arena tours and just be huge, huge artists in general!
4. Niall Horan I know what you’re thinking. Niall was in One Direction, the biggest boy band in the world! He is already a huge artist! But here’s where you’re wrong. Niall released his solo debut single ‘This Town’ today and it is magical, to say the least! He put up on Youtube a live version of the song, so go and check that out! I think he is really going to excel in being a solo artist and I have super high hopes for him!
Happiness is… Niall’s solo debut! Until next Wednesday… Have Happy thoughts! xx
Hey, Y'all!
I’m back! I’m super sorry about the hiatus that I’ve been on for what feels like an eternity. Senior year is ridiculous, my computer crashed and my blog got hacked! Excuses are lame so I’ll jump into this week's blog post with a September favourites post!
Television- Firstly, I would love to personally thank the creators of Netflix for bringing this glorious app into my life. Currently, my family and I have been watching the old sit-com Full House on repeat! Michelle and Uncle Jesse are life! There is nothing better than the classics.
Movies- Suicide Squad is all the rage right now! It is literally everywhere! I have a new found love for Harley Quinn because she is so bad ass! Also, the movie ‘Nerve’ came out recently that stars Emma Roberts and Dave Franco and I am obsessed! Please do yourself a favour and watch it.
Music- There is lots of good music and new artists out right now! I am loving DNCE, Connor Maynard, and Selena Gomez! They all bring something new to the music industry and I absolutely adore them and think they are going to go really far! Speaking of music, I have a brand new project to tell you about! The Happy Thoughts Blog has a brand new public Spotify playlist for you to listen to. Every month the playlist will be updated with really cool positive music from great music artists! The link for that is down below!
Youtube- As regular readers would already know, I absolutely adore Youtube. This month I’ve been watching the adorable British twins, Lucy and Lydia (I ship Lydia and Jack Maynard so hard), the perky, positive, Canadian Adelaine Morin and the new vlog channel from Gabriel Conte and Jess Bauer! They all are so entertaining and lovely and I think you should all watch them! By the way, Gabe and Jess got engaged this week and I am so happy, I almost cried.
Happiness is... Jess and Gabriels Engagement!! Until Next Wednesday... Have happy thoughts x

Hey Ya’ll!
If you’re a regular reader (Hello there!) or you know me in person, you will know that I have a serious case of wanderlust and my entire life revolves around travelling. Whether I’m dreaming about it, planning for it, using it as motivation or actually in the mists of it, in some form, travelling is always with me. I have recently just got back from a cruise (wow, it was amazing) and I thought I would share with you some tips and tricks I have picked up along the way…
1. Itineraries. I know some people are super spontaneous and very adventurous so this probably isn’t the tip for you… but those who are like me and love to plan to make sure everything gets done, this is for you. I have found the greatest website on the entire interweb that helps with itineraries. Go to www.triphobo.com and thank me later.
2. Luggage tags Or something that will set your luggage apart from everyone elses and make it stand out. At the departure terminal, my bag was set in a different cage and I had to wait an hour extra! At the time I didn’t know if someone else had taken my bag by mistake, because I have a super common, basic suitcase. This was when I realized you definitely need to have something unique on your suitcase so you know what one is yours ie. Luggage tags or a ribbon.
3. Try new things Honestly, if you’re scared of something and it’s going to set you back from an amazing experience, suck it up and do it. That is where the most amazing memories and stories are made. You don’t want to go up to your friends and be like “everyone else went skydiving but I was too scared so I sat in the car.” Do you?
4. MAKE FRIENDS I cannot stress this anymore. Introduce yourself to people and strike conversation. My favorite part about this holiday was meeting all the new friends that I did. You will not regret it. What’s the worst someone can say to you?
Happiness is… A GOOD HOLIDAY Until next Wednesday… Have happy thoughts x
Hey Ya’ll! My favorite part about the school term is the lead up to the school holidays. Everyone is always so happy… but what’s even better is when the holidays actually do come and I can relax and simply do whatever I want, when I want. Who came up with lunch breaks anyway? I just want to eat, when I want! In case you get bored on the holidays, here is a bunch of things that I do that might inspire you! -Beach trips First off, I absolutely love the beach and you can find me there at all times, even in winter! Swimming in the ocean has always been my favorite thing to do and I’ve been told several times that I was a dolphin in a prior life. In the colder seasons when you can’t go swimming, the vibe is still there! I’d recommend going down there just to eat the food, watch the waves and relax! -Friends Call some friends up and have a sleepover, a movie marathon, a picnic, a party! Anything you want. I always find hanging out with friends when there is no school is even better than usual because everyone is in a relaxed state of mind. -Wii Sports Let’s get off the Xbox, off the PS3’s, plug in your old wii console and take it for a whirl. My little brother found ours in a storage box and we literally played wii sports for hours! Not only is it ridiculously fun and a great work out, you can play it for hours- curing that holiday boredom. -Television I know watching TV is boring for some people but I love it! On rainy days I literally watch movie after movie, episode after episode. But in my opinion, save the TV time for the yucky, storm cloud days and enjoy the sunny days outside with great people, the way those days are meant to be spent.
Happiness is… Holiday Relaxation Until Next Wednesday… Have Happy Thoughts x

Hey Ya’ll!
Youtube. The most beloved website on my computer.. A few years ago, if you had asked me what I watched or what a "youtuber" was, I would've answered with "funny dog videos" or "I don't have a clue." Now, like every other teenager on the planet, I live for the days my favourite youtubers update. Here are some of my favourite youtubers that you should check out!
1. Shani Grimmond! -The only Australian youtuber I watch and absolutely adore! She posts make-up tutorials, the most hyper Q&A’s and the most fabulous vlogs. She posts regularly and seriously inspires me so much. She is so fearless!
2. Kian Lawley I’m sure a lot of you know him and have seen his videos but I thought I should give him a special mention. He was my favourite back when he was in O2L and still to this day makes me laugh every single video. Not to mention, he’s incredibly good looking.
3. Lauren Elizabeth I used to watch AwesomenessTV alot when JennxPenn and Andrea Russet had a show and that’s where I came across Lauren’s channel. The thing I love most about her channel is her style! Just watching her hauls and seeing the way she’s decorated her house is goals!
Happiness is... Youtube!
Until next Wednesday... Have happy thoughts x
Happy Saturday! 😊🌞
Hey Ya'll! First post of the year! Whoo! Over the break I have read A LOT of different books and I thought I would share with you some of the great ones I read! I know there's so many book lovers out there, so this is for you! 1. Kissing in America by Margo Rabb This book was actually quite dramatic which isn't the type of story I would usually go for but I decided to give it a try. This book turned out great because it had a cute road-trip vibe and had great closure within the story. 2. Girl Online: On tour by Zoe Sugg Regular readers of this blog (hello to you!) will know that I adored the first Girl Online book and as soon as I heard there was a second one, I had to get my hands on it! It did not disappoint. It had all the factors of a great story- Love, travel, drama and friendship. I really hope Zoe decides to make a third! 3. L.A Candy by Lauren Conrad This is the only book I have ever read over five times! It's about two best friends who move to Los Angeles and get scouted to be on a reality show, which I love! I can read this book over and over and still be shocked by the plot twists. Only, I think Lauren has written about her time on "The Hills" but changed the names of a few things. Nevertheless, it's great! 3. Amy and Rogers Epic Detour by Morgan Matson Without a doubt, this is the best book I have ever read and I recommend it to all of you! It has a great story and a hidden message that is beneficial to everyone. I literally could not stop reading it! Happiness is... Summer reading! Until Next Wednesday.. Have happy thoughts x
