Just finished the episode Cathexis with my mom (it’s her first time watching voyager) and we get to the part at the end when the EMH is reviving Chakotay and Janeway puts her hands on his bare shoulder.
My mom says as Chakotay: “Ma’am your hands are on my breast!?”
ofc i’m cackling on the couch at this point as she continues, then Janeway leans closer to Chakotay;
My mom: “What is she gonna do kiss him?”
And that just felt important to share, thanks for coming to my Ted talk, I can’t wait to see her reaction to other iconic J/C moments, might keep yall updated on that…

Have something to look forward to every thurday for half a year. A week to build up excitement and theories between episodes (or to yk, be too busy to watch). Time to create art about it.
time to let things find their audience, time for fandoms to build up (time for fandoms to maintain their momentum)
My generations grew up watching the same TV show over the course of their entire school career. That's why Star Trek, for example, has such a large fanbase.
Seven seasons of Voyager means those characters accompanied me for seven years. That's why so many people are attached to shows and characters.
Bring back appointment television. Let people savor a show. Let people take their time to trip to figure out a plot spend a week discussing it in forums.
Writing fic, creating art, forming an actual fandom that will last longer than a month.
We need full seasons that last the year, with summer off. And season premieres that were special
Give us actual spoiler-free entertainment back.
And physical media. Give it to us. Stop. Supporting. The. Streaming. Model. It’s killing the entertainment business and it’s killing fandoms.

I'm a spiritualist and I believe in reincarnation. Spiritually speaking, Janeway and Chakotay could be soulmates who lived several incarnations together… he always as the spiritual soldier and she always as the warrior/scientist/skeptic. I'm thinking of writing a oneshot fanfic where Chakotay accesses some kind of dimensional portal, has access to these memories of past lives of the two together and makes a holodeck program to show Kathryn… Would anyone read it?

In the episode The Fight, Chakotay says that Boothby used to train him in boxing when he was a cadet… Janeway previously said that Boothby brought her fresh roses every morning when she was at the Academy… Chakotay is only 1 or 2 years older than Janeway… I find it odd that they never met before, since they were at the Academy at the same time… I know the Academy was big, but I imagine he could have at least heard of her, since she was the daughter of an Admiral, well, maybe her father was a Captain at the time or something… but I find it intriguing that they could have at least bumped into each other a few times.
Now I want to write a fic about Boothby talking about how she loves roses to him and how Chakotay remembered that and that's why he gave her that rose in coda new headcanon unlocked

You know, i love how he puts the wight behind the words “you’re not just my Captain, you’re my friend.” The word friend means so, so much more to them.

We're in the swing of the holiday season, so I want to gather a list of "holiday-ish" Star Trek episodes.

I’d also like to add the Voyager episode 11:59(season 5 episode 22) it definitely gives Hallmark Christmas movie if you ask me.
