Build-A-Ninja Event: Nibomati, the Newest Ninken

For @the-kakashi-lounge-blog server event, Build-A-Ninja. The challenge was to create a new character related to Kakashi in some way. 

Introducing Nibomati, the princess of Mount Shakar (home of the ninken). Much to her parents’ dismay, she loves to hang around the riffraff (mainly her boyfriend, Shiba), and it gets her into trouble sometimes. Like the time she accidentally tagged along when Shiba was summoned to the Land of Fire to aid in search and rescue efforts for the Daimyo’s young son. 

Although she was reluctant to assist at first, hating the way shinobi treat summon animals as servants at their beck and call, she ultimately agreed to lend her keen sight to the investigation—lives were on the line, after all. And when Kakashi depleted his chakra, risking his own life to rescue not only the Daimyo’s son but his playmates and caregiver who were also trapped by flooding, her opinion (of this one shinobi, at least) began to change, and she agreed to a contract with the Copy Ninja of the Hidden Leaf. 

Contracting with shinobi is extremely frowned upon on Mount Shakar. Old wounds still cut deep from the times when the shinobi villages were first formed, and shinobi seeking to increase their villages’ resources plundered the fertile valleys surrounding Mount Shakar, capturing many ninken to serve in their lands and forcing the rest to seek refuge high up on the mountain until the valleys had been bled dry and the shinobi left. But those times were long ago, and the suffering has largely been forgotten among the younger ninken, who see shinobi contracts merely as an opportunity for adventure. 

Because of this history, Nibomati has to keep her contract a secret from her parents, and Kakashi can’t summon her often—but he knows he can count on her for the rare all-hands-on-deck missions or for situations when he needs some extra clout. 

And perhaps one day when she rules Mount Shakar, more formal relations between ninken and shinobi can begin and old wounds can finally be healed.

Who else is down to join Kakashi and his ninken in the Hokage blanket fort? Under “No Admittance” it says “this means you Naruto” but resizing made it so blurry that I don’t think you can read it.
