Kakashi spluttered and lost his footing, feeling as though his entire body had been electrocuted. “I—what? Excuse you—ahgh—” His foot slipped off the side of the rooftop.
Umino steadied him via jacket collar. “You heard me.”
Kakashi attempted to worm his way out of the chunin sensei's grip. “No, I don’t think I did.”
“Oh, for fuck’s sake.”
Umino pulled down on his flak jacket again, and Kakashi’s arms pinwheeled a bit. The skin exposed above his mask burned from the cold, but he barely noticed the discomfort, eyes locked in the chunin’s gaze.
