so the other prominent switch emulator got the nintendo treatment, and the github is no longer available.
this, and the recent strikes against youtubers who are showcasing nintendo IP running on emulators, is just so deeply frustrating to me.
even if you just look at nintendo's own library, you cannot access the wii, wii u or 3DS eshops at all. without a physical disc (or in some cases digital only releases that never got ported) there are loads games that are stuck on these platforms and cannot be accessed at all without emulation.
them taking down switch emulators at the like, end of the switch's life cycle is really just sort of the last straw for me with them. even if whatever their next console is can run switch games, and can use the same eshop, eventually, whether it's 5 or 10 or more years from now, they will shut that eshop down too. will there be people who will even want to work on a switch emulator after the switch is no longer being developed for? man i hope so.
the point of this is not Piracy, the point of this is that Corporations have never taken care of their old games in a good way. there are thousands and thousands of games you just can't play anymore. and that sucks ass. and nintendo is really making things worse for the entire emulation scene, not even just for nintendo specific emulators.
i think at this point, it'll be hard to support them going forward in anyway. the only power i have is not to buy nintendo products.
