Can't wait for the uniqueness of the holocaust to be a topic of importance in a political campaign in america in 2024. That's how it should be. That's normal

It's true, the Holocaust isn't unique, it holds the largest impact because it is the most recent one, at least for jews, given time other genocides will overshadow it, and it should be taught in the same vein as other historic atrocities.

There was the Effacer le tableau.

The Hutu massacres of the first Congo war.

The Rwandan Genocide.

The Bosnian Genocide.

The Isaaq Genocide.

The Anfal campaign.

The Gukurahundi.

The Cambodian Genocide.

The East Timor Genocide.

The Ikiza.

The Bangladesh Genocide, which may have a repeat very soon.

The Holodomor.

The Great Leap Forward.

The Armenian Genocide.

I can go on.

To limit education to but one atrocity, when all of these happened in the same century is an attempt to reframe or even hide these atrocities, for instance I have seen many socialists defend both the Holodomor and the Armenian Genocide, it does those being educated a disservice by treating the Holocaust as unique while surrounded by a myriad of other heinous genocides.

I will say context is important, and I don't know the context here, but yeah he's right to acknowledge the many other genocides that exist.

I mean the context in the screenshot provided is obviously correct and vindicates what Walz is saying. Someone screenshotted that as proof Walz was wrong because they could not read the words in it, just that it somehow disagrees with them.

He fucking says, right there, "to exclude other acts of genocide severely limited students' ability to synthesize the lessons of the Holocaust and ability to apply them elsewhere," that's the quote that this thread's OP and Twitter OP both looked at and got enraged by without reading! Guess what? If you teach people the Holocaust was completely unique and unprecedented and unrelated to any other patterns of behavior, the take-home lesson is that it might as well have been done by space aliens and there's no reason to be concerned with what humans are doing!

and by divorcing the Holocaust from all other genocides, it also allows people to not have a framework of other mass atrocities, which surprisingly enough seems to make them believe that the holocaust could have actually NOT happened, considering how they don't have a framework about how often atrocities happen.

"Blank is not a zionist, they just acknowledge Israel's right to exist!" Acknowledging Israel's "right to exist" has ALWAYS been the definition of zionism. Yes, even if you're "critical of the government". Yes, even if you "feel sorry" for Gaza.

The reason zionists (who claim they aren't zionists, they just support Israel's right to exist) are suddenly bending backwards and doing incredible mental gymnastics to try to convince you that zionist doesn't mean what it has always meant and that instead it purely means "people who are cheering on the genocide" is that these zionists are trying to put distance between themselves with the "racist, bloodthirsty ones" because they don't want to confront that they are and have always been complicit in this genocide by acknowledging and normalizing the establishment of a settler-colonial project, by seeing ANY "right" to this ethnostate, by claiming there is any worth or good in apartheid. You ARE a zionist, and there's blood on your hands.

Being anti-zionist means you acknowledge that Israel does NOT have a right to exist. Full stop. You cannot say you're anti-zionist and say anything that implies that Israel can and should exist either now or in the future.

And yes, this goes for every single settler-colonial regime around the world.

^Exactly so. There is no non-violent version of Israel. Whatever "nice" Israel you're picturing still exists on stolen land that was acquired through ethnic cleansing and forced displacement. Every inch of it. Israel's existence is inherently violent.

By justifying its existence, by arguing that there's any way for Israel to exist without harming the land and its people, you paved the way for what is happening today and what has been happening for decades.

no bc u guys are pissing me off, u guys dont really understand how the free palestine movement and blm are related... israel both oppresses palenstians and black people but yall wanna bring down blm to uplift a movement

first and foremost, there are afro Palestinians. i said this many times on my blog and its makes me upset that i dont really see people mentioning them bc they are affected the most bc they are Black and Palestinian.

secondly, israrel treats Ethiopian Jewish people terribly because they is black. they constantly deports them back to Ethiopia and separates them from they families.

lastly, israel also trains many African military forces. for example they train forces from Nigeria, Togo, Ghana, Ethiopia, Zambia, Angola, Malawi. these are just a few examples. the idf and africom are working together with African nations to further destabilize them and attempt to colonize them, basically neo colonialism. training African forces is just one of the techniques they use to do this.

so what this means that the destruction and downfall of israel and the zionist movement does not only liberate Palestinians, it also put bring Black people closer to liberation.

they also forcibly sterilized Ethiopian women

On top of it all, the colonialism of the African continent and the colonialism of Palestine share the common threads of European colonial, imperial hegemony. Also, Palestinians themselves have shown solidarity with the oppression of black folks in the USA even while living under occupation and genocide.

good morning to everyone, especially the three muslims taking the fbi to court for illegal and discriminatory spying on our communities 🥰

anyway, CAIR is taking the case, and for any muslim who may be unaware - they take cases pro bono - completely free

CAIR is a resource every american muslim should know about: they’re a group of muslim lawyers who provide free legal services for everything from consultations, education on your rights, and registering to vote, to taking your case on for free if you’ve become a victim of a hate crime, discrimination, or islamophobia

FBI honey trap arrests a guy because she couldn’t convince him to terrorism

Old article but somewhat relevant how FBI conducts stings. Here are some excerpts from the article.

Rayyan is a suicidal Muslim. Jannah is the FBI honey trap trying to convince Rayyan to be a terrorist.

the united states is, without a doubt, the most evil institution that has ever existed, and it must be taken down.

I hate that even though I want to scream “why aren’t people outraged over this, a woman in a powerful position was just killed!”

We all know exactly why no one is talking about this. And it disgusts me to know that this still happened despite her position.

My heart goes out to all of her family, friends, and loved ones.
