I don’t know if some of y’all realize this, but....... you can recognize that a character has been through abuse and sympathize/empathize with them for that, while ALSO recognizing that that doesn’t excuse the abuse they inflict on others. Saying “[x] character did nothing wrong uwu” or “[xyz] is not their fault bc they were hurt in the past”, like no their past experiences don’t just cancel out the shit they do later on, don’t infantilize villain characters just bc you like them ok.
Don’t get me wrong some of these characters I like myself!! But I’m also able to remember that they’re not all entirely good and should be held accountable.
