RH: I am lowkey terrified on how the rest of Square might handle Emet-Selch. Like if he shows up in KH he's screwed. Heck, even Ishikawa in Endwalker, had to note that Emet-Selch is still committed to the Ascian ideals even in defeat and that's why he chooses to pass on, since he can't live in the modern world with full knowledge of the old. he did try but found the world wanting. That'll always be interesting to me.
I've already resigned myself to the fact they're going to screw him up eventually in other media.
I thought it was pretty obvious from Endwalker that his beliefs haven't changed at all, but he's accepted that we have the right to live (so kind of you Emet :P), and that there's no place for him among the living. So he moves on. Which is a million times better than being stuck in the past and a poignant end to his arc.
