foreshadowing done well makes me go feral like there’s NOTHING better than getting to the end a book or an important storyline moment and realising that the author laced information so intricately into their writing that weren’t noticeable upon first read but when you read back sections they’re light giant red flags like wow writing is amazing

the best stories contain two stories: the one you read the first time, and the one you read every time after that

Thank you so much, anon - for giving me an opportunity to be really weird and embarassing about Paul's hair <3 Haven't done that in a while, so here we go! I tried to pick out my ten favourites from 34 years of HIGNFY, and I'm sure I still forgot a few great ones, haha.

Anyway...I hope you can even count all of these as different hairstyles ;)

Same here, really. I like the shiny silky look of it, but it's maybe a bit too straight lol

When Wilson wakes up the morning after, his head throbbing, the too-bright light streaming in through the window, he's not sure where he is. Conference, he thinks, distantly. New Orleans. But not his hotel room.

Did he - no. Did he really get arrested last night?

The strum of a guitar. A too-familiar song. Billy Joel.

Wilson groans and turns over, in the direction of the music. His new buddy is singing. Smirking.

"Stop," he grumbles, mostly into his pillow.

House chooses to cheerfully, enthusiastically raise his voice instead.

"Ass," Wilson mutters.

"So cranky!" House grins and leans over to ruffle his hair.

Wilson slaps him away, not hard enough to inflict any real damage. Later he'll look back and think: yeah. Even then. Even then.
