I have such a specific picture of how Bonnie would behave in my mind no amount of outside influence is going to change it now.

I think that "false alarm" message we get on the Fazwatch was from Bonnie.

Kids had gone missing there long before SB—and maybe Bonnie was the one to find one of them. He's the one who called the police, in hopes of getting the child to safety.

...But that never happened. Maybe that was also the night that he went into gator golf, trying to meet the kid and as they were coming onto the catwalks through mazercise. Bonnie could have told Freddy about what was happening, the one person he trusts more than anyone else in the world, after he realized that Vanessa was not there to help him save this child.

But a different Freddy showed up. The prototype under Vanny's control, an equal match to lure Bonnie under the hurricane bucket.

His trust in Freddy was used against him, and it destroyed him in the end.

creating an au where things are drastically different from what is confirmed in canon but also the canon storyline is full of inconsistencies or everything is left to several interpretations leaving many details unconfirmed so you think crafting your own story around it to your ideas would be a bit easier and it is but sharing those aspects with others will cause unwanted reactions bc some of the canon confirmed info may have been rewritten or scrapped and now you have a bunch of people telling you that you’re wrong
