So, I really liked this dark retelling of Cinderella. The shifter aspect was a nice touch, and the hidden identities was definitely fun, especially when you finally find out who is who.

The shifter magic involved keeps you intrigued, as does Remi who keeps coming back for Luella week after week. These two falling in love is a bit of a slow burn, but it’s worth the wait. Trust me!

[Book Two of Two]

Story: 3.5 out of 5 Spice: 2 out of 5

This book was a decent read, but very much could have been told all in one book rather than two.

Mara’s development was very much to my liking. I like that she went from being a victim to taking matters into her own hands. And Cole! This guy is a grade A psycho but we love him for it.

And though these books are short, don’t worry. All loose ends are tied up with a pretty red bow.

[Book One of Two]

Story: 4 out of 5 Spice: 3 out of 5

I don’t know what it is about this book that is keeping me from giving it five stars. I liked it, I did, but… something felt off.

It’s definitely a fast-paced obsession on Cole’s part, but it takes the entire book until they’re whamming and bamming lol.

The whole rival artists/serial killers trying to one up one another is fun, until it isn’t. Shaw is definitely a psycho, but his craziness pushes Cole to act out in a way he’s never been before so that’s a plus. And poor Mara is stuck in the middle.

There’s a slight cliffhanger and I’m definitely glad I have book two already on my shelf, ready to be read.

Alright, so this was adorable. I had trouble getting into it because the main female character came off as a little bratty and I was not vibing with it. But as the chapters progressed, the girl got more tolerable.

This is one of those books where you know the fake dating is going to blow up in their faces, and it did! I did not expect this story about high schoolers to crush my heart like that haha.

And though I loved everything about the pettiness in fake dating to prove an ex wrong and make someone else jealous in order to make them make a move, I adored reading Riley’s relationship with her father evolve and the new friendships she made.

This book contains no spice/smut and is perfect for the young generation.

Holy… WHAT?! How was that bombshell just dropped in the epilogue like it was nothing!!!

This book had me hating each of the main characters! I seriously wished bad for all their endings, haha. But just as I was getting super annoyed with one character, I actually started to feel for them. And then just when you think that one nice character is making a bad judgment call, you realize it was all intentional!! And though another character wasn’t good, but wasn’t totally bad, it turns out they’re just as bad as the other character! I’m sorry that’s confusing, but I can’t spoil it!!!

This was such an intense ride and though you think you’ll have it all figured out, I assure you, you won’t. Hence the bombshell in that epilogue.

Seriously, this was insane.

Major spoilers below the cut...

This was my introduction to cowboy romance and I’m hooked. I need more.

Chasing the Wild is filled with a forbidden affair, a jealous ex, and a family history that will leave you hurting for Colton Wilder.

The forbidden affair with the ex’s grumpy dad is everything you didn’t know you needed until you pick up this book. Seriously, pick it up!

The spice is top notch, as is Colt’s… everything. And despite everything that goes on, Layla keeps her head held high and leaves you proud for our girl.

Even after the love affair, the drama, and the HEA… I want more. Thankfully we are introduced to another cowboy in here and I can’t wait to read his story!

Okay, listen. If you’re looking for a book to finally dip your toe into fantasy or looking for a book to show your teenager that has absolutely zero spice, then pick this up. Seriously, pick it up!

This is such a cute read that tells a wonderful story, introduces characters that will quickly become a favorite, and might just make your heart race just a little. The magic and creatures and food will also have you turning page after page.

The Spellshop is a nice little escape and will make you fall in love with these islanders, hoping for more once the story ends.

I love finding a new take on a Disney classic, especially if it’s a little dark and a little twisted. And Kingdom of Forgotten Curses did not disappoint as it blended Beauty and the Beast with Dracula. How cool is that?

However, I won’t lie and must admit I did struggle with this book. While the story is interesting with its twists and turns, I couldn’t really connect with Mina. I won’t go into detail because I don’t wanna dissuade any readers, but also because everyone has their own tastes in books and this is just one person’s opinion.

Alas, the story had its interesting aspects and was still very much an interesting read.

Book two in the Martini Girl Bar series, Forever Luna is a fun rom-com that brings the drama between past lovers and family. But more importantly, it’s about a six foot something Viking that does his best to prove to the woman he loves that she’s not boring and very much the woman he wants *insert swoon*.

Forever Luna also brings back a cast of lovable and hilarious characters, and makes you wonder (after it’s all over, of course) which Martini Girl will end up with Tails and Halo. IYKYK.

I laughed, and then laughed some more, and maybe cried a little. Certain drama will also make you wanna punch a certain character, but trust the process. Levi has got your back haha.

So originally, I was gonna rate this four stars, but after a few chapters I was fully invested. A “why choose”, fake dating, friends to lovers? Yeah, I knew this was gonna be a rollercoaster. And boy, I was NOT disappointed.

There’s the ex-rugby player who says the infamous “don’t fall in love with me” line, the sweet “boy next door” who’s secretly been in love with her for YEARS, and then the ex-teacher who’s ten years older than her. It shouldn’t work and for a few chapters everyone’s worst fears come to pass, but this foursome pulls themselves together to talk everything out.

Faking with Benefits is filled with humor, spice, and DRAMA! Seriously, don’t let the cover fool you. The spice is.. well, you’ll see.
