Monster Hunter Rise's biggest flaw is the dango system. What a downgrade. You go from MH:W and these huge sumptuous meals made from the monsters you've been hunting to 3 sticks of dango and a cup of tea. How am I supposed to go out and fight a hundred monsters when that's all I've had to eat? The handler and the hunter from MH:W would call that a light snack, a sample plate. I want to get in there and eat like Goku.

the new monster hunter possibly being a true open world is honestly intriguing to me. i feel like the premise of monster hunter lends itself better to the open world concept better than most open world games, which tend to rely on formulas which have gone very stale over the past decade.

the mount has a lot of stuff on the saddle, including a whole other weapon. this makes me think that your mount will act as a limited mobile campsite, where you can stock and retrieve a limited number of items, eat portable food to top up on food buffs, as well as swap out to one other weapon/gearset.

this is probably not going to happen, but it'd be really funny if you could use your weapon while on the mount. imagine strafing around a wyvern on your mount while blasting it with a heavy bowgun lol.
