So I got this family from church I'm friends with, and when they told me their kid was getting into TPN, I got very excited.

That excitement quickly turned to fear and dread when I then found out they just started Season 2 and seemed adamant to finish it.

After more than a year of work on this, @0hana0fubuki0 and I are finally able to present our translation of the Religion chapter featured in the TPN Western Literature Analysis book by Kei Toda!

Disclaimers: 

  • The translations aren't perfect and the wordings picked might not match the desired nuance of the author, as the main translator is not a native Japanese speaker. If there are things that are unsure by the translator, they will be addressed later at the bottom. 
  • From what I can remember, this book was published at least a few weeks/months before the Mystic Code fanbook and 3rd light novel got released (and based on Part 3, also possibly finished before the last few chapters of the manga were out), so certain observations written here may or may not have been made obsolete by any new information revealed in these specific sources.
  • Names and terms used within the series follow the Viz English translation, and mentions of the manga’s timeline are double-referenced with the fanbook. 
  • The ESV translation is used for the Bible verses mentioned in-text. 
  • Another thing to note is that Kei Toda is looking through this topic as a Western literature/culture scholar, and not necessarily as a theologian.

@esthelle18​ Hey there! So, me and my friend @0hana0fubuki0​ actually teamed up to translate the Religion chapter from the TPN Literature Analysis book around a year ago, but it still technically a Work In Progress because of both of us have been pretty busy with a lot of stuff IRL. That being said, we’ve actually finished around more than 90% of the chapter at the moment, so it’s a matter of her checking if the translations we got are as accurate as possible, and for me to format the whole thing with relevant images and references onto a Google Doc.

This is probably coming from me starting a new job and doing like 10 hours worth of CPD last week, but when I think about how Anna might be she does end up in some of health-related profession, it would really depend whether she’s more care-based or cure-based in her approach to her patients

#Yakusoku no Neverland#The Promised Neverland#Anna#Granted both she and Zack would technically be more suited in any medic role at this point#But as far as I can tell from her personality#She's been shown to be caring and empathetic so it's not that surprising if she would approach a more holistic/person-centered approach with#On the other hand anything she did to heal the kids involved curing or investigating for a cure#I have nothing else to add#My brain's fried from orientation and I still have 3 more days to go this week
