As much as I want to keep my anon asks open, and i do love hearing the stories of closeted trans people and the persepectives of trans people in non-western countries they are going to be closed indefinitely for the time being.

I want the people who've contacted me with nice messages to know that I appreciate you, and thank you and to the people who've contacted me with their stories that I'm so glad i could make you feel comfortable enough to share.

Unfortunately being open about my trauma and vents on a discourse blog is actually not a smart idea lol, so don't do that kids.

I like to think I am a strong person but sending asks trying to trigger my religious and cult trauma did catch me a little off guard. haha.

When would calling someone their pronouns (he/they) as a noun NOT be transphobic?

Two of the most common arguments against transandrophobia:

'Transandrophobia is just men trying to make it about themselves again'

'Transandrophobia is so stupid, there's like barely any history to it'

Are like directly contradictory.

Like you can't in the same breath say transandrophobia is not credible because it doesn't have enough historical writings on it, and also suggest that the writings have always centred trans men and are only now starting to shift in favour of trans women.

We talk about “fish” (which, cladistically, do not exist, there is no monophyletic group of “fish” that simultaneously includes all organisms we understand to be “fish”-like while also excluding, say, humans) because, despite the utter fiction that is fish, it’s still a useful label when we talk about certain features that “fish” tend to have in common.

Gender is absolutely the same way.

It's insane to me how many people on this site seem to think "tranny" is meaningfully a slur against anyone but transfems. It's a level of social awareness that's worse than most mainstream CisHet Liberals, and I have to wonder how many people say this to intentionally undermine trans women vs they've picked up enough of the especially virulent background transmisogyny that seems to permeate any fandomite social space. Because I swear that most "Queer as in Fuck You" types have an even worse attitude towards trans women than the sort of "Hey Man-I mean girl(?)- how's it going?" types you might run into in the streets. A truly miserable state of affairs for so called "progressives" indeed

Last I checked the trans in trans men DOES actually stand for TRANS and is not a SYNONYM.

Some (not all, but a generous portion) uses of 'TME' feel like a bait and switch thing?

Like you use 'tme' to mean 'cis' something like for example, TME people think trans women want to 'make their kids trans'. (largely trans people would be unlikely to worry about their kids being 'made trans')

And then 5 minutes later you're going, 'TMEs are gross parodies of transness'. (to predominantly mean transmascs).

So like 'tme' is used to mean cis when describing how much privilege they have and then used to mean 'transmasc' when actually insulting them?

Does this make sense? Does anyone else get this feeling?

But I do miss the nights, usually after a particularly bad beating, when she used to spend hours smoothing out my hair with one of those old brushes, the ones without plastic bristles. She would stroke my head and tell me its ok, and to pray, keep my trust in Allah.
