The Osamu Tezuka Manga Museum will be opening a special exhibition about the supporting characters in the Tezuka Star System starting on July 2, 2021 and ending on October 25, 2021.
Pictured on the poster are Rock Holmes, Shunsaku Ban, Acetylene Lamp, and Hyotantsugi in the background.
During the exhibition’s run, 6 restaurants near the Osamu Tezuka Manga Museum in Takarazuka, Hyōgo, Japan will offer a special collaboration menu inspired by Tezuka’s Black Jack.
A complete (as far as we know) list of Acetylene Lamp’s offspring across canons. If you can think of any others, let me know, or feel free to add them onto this post. I’m not sure why Lamp out of all the Star System characters has so many unique children
I know about at least two from what I’ve read so far, from Kokeshi Detective Agency and Lemon Kid.
Thank you for the details! That puts Lamp up to 11 canon kids, which is nuts
I’m exetremely late to the convo but i brought in two more challengers:
Kentaro (originally nameless in the og manga) from the black jack manga and black jack 21
And Black Jack himself in Bremen 4
may i introduce-
If we’re including BJ from Bremen4 that’s 15 kids-
*adjusts it slightly
I can’t believe I forgot to scan these! Here’s some hi-res Tezuka Moderno stickers, featuring a wide variety of characters.
Evening Winter vibes
(bonus morning black jack:
Black Jack OVA character model sheets, from the Black Jack OVA laserdisc artbook. (1993)
Special booklet from DVD Box 1
I’ve just put up scans of the official Tezuka Productions playing card set from the 2000s. All scans are free to use as icons, headers, etc.!
I made something special
My deck of Japan Railways Astro Boy cards finally arrived! Most of the cards are regular, plain playing cards, but they’re interspaced with some cool chibi art! Some of these characters I wouldn’t have expected to be included.
