My Dragon Age as Trainers series is complete, with the exception of if you consider Loghain as a companion! In which case, I’ll be working on his next!
Teams are under the cut!
After what has definitely been the most arduous entry in the Dragon Age as Trainers series (thanks in part to experimenting with CSP and to house-sitting and having to re-install CSP), I am proud to present Shale!
Pokemon team is under the cut:
I lied, I am still working (against sense, tbh) on my Dragon Age as Trainers series while house-sitting. I managed to get Shale’s glow down, but do you have any suggestions on what to do with the rest of the body?
I was thinking of keeping her still recognisable as a Golurk, but I also kind of want to change from the “bandage” look...
The marble/stone look will remain, as will the stone colour, but I’m thinking of making the “fist diamonds” the same glowing blue in order to simplify Golurk’s design as well as suggest Shale fights with her fists.
I guess I’ll throw some gemstones on eventually :P
The Trainers and Teams so far! Teams under the cut and in order from left to right for each column.
The Dragon Age as Trainers series continues with Sten, who suspiciously has quite a few tough-as-nails and protective Pokemon that started out as complete babies, as befits an eventual leader who becomes known for his auspicious thoughfulness. Descriptions below the cut (and are currently being worked on, if you get here early):
The Trainers of my Dragon Age as Trainers series and their Teams (so far)!
Teams under the cut and in order of Surana, Dog, Alistair, Morrigan, Leliana, Wynne, Zevran, Oghren:
Presenting the next iteration of Dragon Age as Trainers Dog’s Special Friends!
Dog himself is a Normal/Fairy type known as the Hearty Pokemon. He primarily learns powerful Normal physical attacks and Fairy special attacks, but can also learn quite a few Psychic attacks and support moves.
His shiny version is a lighter cream and black. He is not part of Surana’s team and is regarded as a companion of his own authority and responsibilities.
He is a special boy, yes he is!
The Dragon Age as Trainers series so far! (And the Origins logo to even out the image layout, don’t mind me)
Teams under the cut and in order of Surana, Alistair, Morrigan, Leliana, Wynne, Zevran, Oghren:
Oh Oghren, my least favourite companion... He nontheless deserves an effortful entry into the Dragon Age as Trainers series!
The Trainers so far! Teams are in order as follows (Surana, Alistair, Morrigan, Leliana, Zevran, Wynne):
Wynne is next up in Dragon Age as Trainers. I’m aware she’s meant to be younger than she appears in-game, but I think it’s all so much more enjoyable if you’re actually saving the world with a geriatric hero.
I’ve tried to make her look a bit sickly here, to indicate that her vitality is rapidly depleting as her (alleged) borrowed time runs out (I’m of the opinion much of the strength that she loses is purely lost because she believes that’s how her deal with a spirit works, and of course the entity-whos-abilities-are-enforced-by-belief responds in kind).
Next (technically should have been first, I wager) in the Dragon Age as Trainers series, Warden Surana.
saw your da pokemon trainers on reddit and came to follow!! i love them
Thank you! Of course thank you for the follow and I'm so glad you like the series, but also more specifically thank you for bolstering my desire to keep making art!
I'd actually been through months of placing pressure on myself, guilting myself (and thus placing more pressure), getting exhausted from all the pressure and not drawing, and just generally being in a horrible loop of art block.
I casually started to draw again one day and there's been flow! It's been effortless! And I've been getting good feedback! It's been a joy and I'm so glad that others are enjoying what I'm making!
Continuing the Dragon Age as Trainers series, it’s Zevran!
EDIT: Liked this colouring better! :)
Third in the Dragon Age as Pokemon Characters series, Morrigan (yes, yes outside of the alphabetical order I’d assigned myself, but I couldn’t resist booting my favourite up in the order).
